"Beautiful hotel close to everywhere you want to be"
I booked this hotel as a surprise trip for my boyfriends birthday and we loved every aspect of the hotel. Check in was quick and easy, reception staff were lovely and friendly. Our room was lovely, it had a beautiful view overlooking the north bridge and waverly station. The bathroom was modern with a huge bathtub and heated towel rail. We also used the pool area which again was modern with mood lighting and a spa, sauna and steam room. The gym area had loads of equipment for both cardiovascular workouts and weight training and there was even a squash court. We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel, everything was in close range, a 5-10 minute walk to Edinburgh Castle, just round the corner from the royal mile and near loads of restaurants, pubs and bars. I would love to stay here again.

"Good hotel with good transport links to Edinburgh"
Stayed one night on a "tour" of Scotland. Easy to driveto in a residential suburb. Overall a good hotel with pleasant staff. Club room good size and very clean. Had a meal in the bistro which standard, but good pub type food. There is a restaurant as an alternative (not used). Did not use the pool but from previous stay was a good standard. Good transport links to Edinburgh bus stop outside hotels and about half an hour to the city centre, single fare £1.50

"Luxury close to airport"
Unfortunately, my travel plans changed after booking and I had very little time to enjoy this beautiful luxury hotel. Everything was exceptional except getting to/from my room. Was like trying to figure out a maze to find the elevators. A map would have helped.

"Comfortable hotel in city centre"
This is a stylish modern hotel conveniently located both for the old city and the new city. The rooms are good size, very comfortable and clean. On the first floor there is an excellent (although very expensive) restaurant and a pleasant bar. The hotel has a policy to charge guests' credit cards on arrival with £300 (even though the room has already been paid for). This amount, intended to secure the hotel against any loss, is refunded after check-out. The policy seems offensive and unnecessary.

"Lovely hotel with very helpful and kind staff!"
The hotel is lovely and is set in a picturesque estate. I can't say enough kind things about the staff. They were incredibly kind and very helpful - helping me to determine what sights I should definitely fit into my schedule. The food on the breakfast buffet was delicious with an amazing variety! I would highly recommend a stay at the Dalmahoy to anyone traveling in the Edinburgh area.

"Home for our visit!"
We stayed in the 'Castle Rock Suites' or they may call it the 'Lodge'. Beautiful and serine our stay was the best with wonderful service and food. Everyone was wonderful and went out of their way to insure our stay was the best ever. We also stayed one night in the castle so we could experence all that Dalhousie had to offer and other than the stairs (lol just getting old) our room had charm and would consider more of the perod with the four poster bed and details. Best vacation ever!

"Nice hotel with good proximity to the center of No"
We stayed overnight and it was a pleasant stay, although it has been raining on both days. The hotel has a good size swimming pool and other spa facilities which is great if you're there on a rainy day as were we.

"Good hotel near the center of Edinburgh"
My family and I stayed at the G&V for our three nights in Scotland. This hotel is fairly new and has been updated. The decor in places is a little funky/glam with bold colors like purple, pink and black but nothing that ever really put me off. Very nice helpful staff on check in and elsewhere. Our room was one of the bigger ones because we got a room with a sleeper sofa for my son. Even so the room was not overly large but what you would expect in the UK. One big plus we really liked was that the room had a mini fridge partially stocked with drinks and a few nibbles which was complimentary! I don't know if this is always the case, but we loved it so I would ask if you book a room. The shower in this bathroom was the best of three hotels I stayed in during my visit to the UK. I looked forward to it at the end of each day. The bed was also quite comfortable. Our stay included a free breakfast which gave you all the continental breakfast choices plus a few more choices with eggs and ham, salmon, etc.
