"This lodging worked perfectly for my husband and I and our 21 year old son. The pull-out sofa is extremely comfortable. The kitchen was very well appointed with plenty of spices and starter sets of coffee and treats. The pool is lovely and refreshing and has three levels. The views of the cruise ships sailing into the port of Hilo each day was enjoyable. And Honoli’i beach is just a short walk up the street. The lodging provides guests with beach chairs, beach umbrella and kid boogie boards...

"The house was a roomy older house, conveniently located 5 minutes from downtown Hilo. Overall, the house was terrific. The only drawback was the shower stall and showerhead. The shower flow was insufficient. A hand-held shower head would be better!"

Having been to Hilo before, we didn't feel we needed a fancy tourist vacation destination lodging location, for a place to stay. So a simple and homey place, that was part of an actual home, in a suburban neighborhood, worked fine for us. It was cozy, clean, and comfortable. Karla met us when we arrived and introduced us to her cottage. Her pride of ownership shows both in talking with her and also in all the little things about the cottage that made staying here very convenient and comfortable.
