"Beautiful hotel"
We wanted a quiet get away for a night to just slow life down. This was perfect. Right by Michigan Avenue but at a quiet spot. Our room was gorgeous. All the luxuries you could hope for. We look forward to visiting here again.

"ok hotel for the price"
Got a good deal on the room. We have been to Chicago two times this month and have tried three new hotels other than where we usually stay. This was our least favorite. Vip +gold members but no upgrade probably because of good rate hotel was booked full.

"Excellent location"
We could not have asked for a more convenient location. Just a block from Water Tower Place, the hotel is close to several bus routes and a few blocks from the "L". The rooms are not especially modern, but they are spacious and comfortable. The only negative is the scarcity of elevators (there are just two) and they are very busy at check-in and check-out or in the evening when people are coming in to go to the rooftop bar--the wonderful Drumbar.

"Great location, comfortable room, but noisy."
Our travel purpose was to visit 3 universities in Chicago area. The Whitehall Hotel was a great home-base location. The rooms are very comfy, and the bed - amazing - if you're into feathery comfort. All staff were welcoming and helpful. Our only complaint was that our room was on the 5th floor and overlooked the loading dock. Of course it got noisy sometimes in the evening. Not so noisy that we couldn't sleep, but I'd recommend requesting a higher floor. Overall, an excellent choice and we will definitely return in the future. We were walking distance from Lookingglass Theater, the Magnificent Mile shopping, and several amazing restaurants.

"a hidden gem!"
This gem is in the heart of Division St , in Wicker Park, nestled in between coffee shops, bars , homes and one block to the blue line L. The blue line L goes to the airport and the south downtown Chicago area! The hotel is like a bed and breakfast, but you have to do your own cooking , if you like. We prefer the Chicago scene of food and coffee houses. The bottom main part of the hotel , during working hours is a salon and spa and boutique. This concept may appear odd to people from other cities, but it is pretty normal in large, advanced worldy cities. This hotel was probably somewhat of a mansion in the past and rennovated into 8 large rooms. I highly reccomend this gem, especially for younger couples then ourselves and ladies weekend away!. Wicker Park has an abundance of younger people and very hipster and sharp! Other then that, great visit!!! P.S. you have to be somewhat in shape to carry luggage by yourself with no elevator!. And don't go there if you need T.V. For us, it was just perfect! The employees were gracious and helpful!

Do you like money? Who doesn’t! Visit the Money Museum, which was established by the U.S. Federal Reserve. Check out a large cube made up of $1 million, as well as exhibits on counterfeiters and historical currency. For something less expensive, head to Oak Street Beach for a stroll. If it’s a windy, cold day, bring your coat; if the Midwest sun is hot, bring your flip-flops. Once the night falls, don’t take it as a signal to head back to your room just yet. Head to Cubby Bear, a sports bar by day, music venue by night. Established in 1953, this meeting spot was vital to the Chicago punk music scene in the late 1980s and early 1990s. While the tunes vary these days, it’s still the place to see a local band on the brink of success.

When you’re ready to turn in for the night, head back to your boutique hotel in Chicago. Yes, you’ll get the usual amenities, but you’ll also experience extra special touches, such as hardwood floors and bikes for rent in the lobby.
