Ronny and his staff were so kind and accommodating and made this stay absolutely worth it. We were welcomed with a cocktail and had a custom ordered tasty breakfast every morning. The room itself is small (and no door to the bathroom) but it is all you really need. The secluded rooftop patio was our favorite place to be during sunsets. The restaurant is bustling but the noise dies down early in the night. The property is on top of a hill (car required) and is about a 10 minute drive to...

This is got to be one of the best boutique hotels I have ever stayed in, and I have traveled all over the world staying in some very nice boutique hotels in: Amsterdam, France, Bali, North Wales, Portugal, Venice and Spain. I find that most boutique hotels are good at one thing and not other things, where Hotel Plaza Yara truly seems to deliver in all areas.
The staff are amazing, and truly define the word hospitality, going out of their way to make sure you are happy with every detail....

My husband and I just spent 2 weeks in Costa Rica and 4 nights at Arenas del Mar. This property is pretty amazing. We saw a ton of wildlife right on the premises including: monkies, sloths, iguanas, ducks, raccoons and even a scorpion. The views from the rooms are second to none. We had a blast swimming in the ocean. We thoroughly enjoyed breakfast and lunches at the restaurants. The dinners were good, but not exceptional. If you are looking for a unique boutique property and love wildlife this...

What sets this property apart is the outstanding customer service and attention details. The Staff, Property, rooms, pools, dining and spa were all above expectations.

The place was very clean. The bed was amazing and the room spacious. The bathroom also lovely with one of the best showers in our 2 weeks in the Costa Rica. The food was good and staff friendly. They shared good local knowledge.
My only complaint would be of the outdoor seating options. There weren't enough outside of the rooms, and the reclining seats around the pool were the hardest I've ever sat on.

We received an upgrade to rom 311 which was the honeymoon suite. It was an expansive villa with three levels plus a private rooftop patio with an outdoor shower and bar sink. The jacuzzi tub on the third level was enormous and took a long time to fill. The beds (two bedrooms) were luxurious and the nicest we’ve found in CR. A walk-in closet in the upper bedroom was very nice and roomy.
The food quality and value was quite good and we didn’t feel any desire to go offsite to eat. The servers...

We liked everything, except that some people would talk on the phone on their balconies and we could hear them like they were talking beside us. Also in the bungalow next to us two teenage boys would be make a lot of noise while on their balcony too. Generally noise caused by other guests is my only issue with our stay. Everything else was great.

Spotless!!!!!!!! Nice smell. Location was perfect. Close to Manuel Antonio, and Quepos. So you get some jungle and some city. I would recommend some hooks on the wall to hang clothes. Everything else was top notch. Love the bathroom, the bed, the view and air conditioning

Great stay! We stayed for 4 nights and it was a great stay. We were welcomed by a family of monkeys when we first got there. Super cool ! Renata was very welcoming and helpful. The room was great with a little kitchenette which we used every morning for coffee and breakfast - perfect location to go to Manuel Antonio or Quepos, as it is right in between. Another plus was the place next door also has live music on Friday nights so easy walk for lively entertainment. Pool was a perfect way to end...

This is a beautiful property. Our villa was located on the beach and we got to see the most gorgeous sunset. Right in the front was the pool. The property is well kept, all the staff were friendly and helpful and the villa was very comfortable. Eveything about our stay was excellent. We also dined at the restaurant a lot and the food was delicious. I highly recommend coming here for a relaxing stay.

The property is within a 5 min walk of Manuel Antonio park gate as well as a long beach. Located a block off the main road, so a quiet location. Breakfast was fantastic - fresh fruit every day and made to order from a variety of menu items. Supper was excellent as well. Room was well equipped with fridge and coffee machine. Handy luggage rack to lay out wet clothes. Nice pool at both the main hotel and the one across the street (Gardens). We stayed at the Gardens location ground floor...

Very friendly staff. Incredibly comfortable room, especially the bed. We had a room overlooking the pool area, which was beautiful. it was really nice to sit on our patio in the evening and listen to the wild life. The buffet breakfast was great, with lots of choices, including plenty of delicious fresh fruit. When we go back to Costa Rica, we will absolutely stay at Hotel Vela bar again.
