The listing on this property was nothing like the actual condo. The place was dirty, there were pieces of a broken light bulb in the bathroom, hair in the corners of the rooms, and a ton of COCKROACHES. No, I’m not talking about the big water bugs, I’m talking small, nasty breeding roaches due to poor cleaning and lack of pest control. They were in the kitchen drawers and would go scurrying the second the lights turned on. The property manager offered me a credit to come back and stay another time but refused a refund. We stayed one night-slept in our clothes with the lights on and never opened our suitcases. They offered to come spray while we were there and clean the rooms, but we were so grossed out, we chose to leave. I find it pretty disappointing comparing the listing to the actual photos I took of the place. The ceilings were cracking, they had “do not open blinds” on the bedroom blinds, and everything was very dated. I will spread the word to every social media outlet not to stay at Granada Del Mar. This place needs to be held accountable for not being honest with their listing photos and keeping someone’s hard earned money.

The place was clean and very friendly staff. I’d recommend staying here, but I would note that the dinner spot was closed while we were there (not sure if it’s because we went in the offseason or if they actually had private events there, which we didn’t see) and that the beach on the property had so much seaweed buildup that you couldn’t really go into the water, which wasn’t their fault. The good thing is, is that they had a free shuttle everyday from 12-4pm to a beach nearby that had no seaweed. Other than those 2 things, no complaints.

I stayed at The Waves on a solo trip, and it was honestly the perfect place for me! From the moment I arrived, I felt safe, comfortable, and completely at ease as a woman traveling alone. The property was extremely clean, the view was unbelievable, and the staff was amazing. Tom and Charlette were fantastic, and the restaurant servers were wonderful as well. The food at the restaurant was absolutely delicious, and the portions were generous enough that I had leftovers to enjoy later. Housekeeping was also great and always on time. The only time they didn’t come was when I accidentally put the “Do Not Disturb” magnet on the other side of the door. My only small note is that they didn’t restock the bottled water during housekeeping, but I simply brought my own water back to the room, so it wasn’t a big deal. The room had a mini fridge and dishes, which came in handy for storing and enjoying my leftovers. There was also a complimentary bottle of wine and snacks waiting in the room. The wine was a complimetary Malbec, which isn’t my personal preference, but if you love Malbec, you’ll definitely enjoy it! Overall, I truly have zero complaints. I had an amazing stay and would absolutely recommend The Waves. I would definitely stay here again!
