Incredible experience through and through.

This is a nice 3.5 star hotel, not 5 star! The resort was well kept but kind of boring. No poolside entertainment throught the day and the evening shows were uncomfortable due to having to sit on the floor or stairs. Most of the restaurants were inaccessible due to very long waits so we pretty much stuck to the buffets for the week. Pool chairs were slim pickins. If you werent snagging one at 7am, you didnt get one. I dont think it was worth what we paid.... beautiful property though.

Ocean and pool view, but on one side of the hotel there is a beach club that is extremely noisy. We had to ask for a change of room. Anyone booking should make sure to ask for the quieter side. I think they should have to disclose how loud that one side is.

Rating: 4.8/5 ​Our stay at Live Aqua Cancun was fantastic. The pool layout is excellent, offering a perfect balance between a lively swim-up bar and designated quiet areas for relaxation. I cannot stress this enough: the resort is kept immaculately clean. The staff across the board were friendly, and the food was consistently wonderful. ​For those considering an upgrade, we booked through the VIP Club, and the club staff and butlers were exceptional—they truly elevated the experience. ​Areas for Improvement ​While our trip was nearly perfect, there are two things to keep in mind: ​Corporate Event Interference: Occasionally, the hotel hosts events for outside companies that can intrude on the guest experience. During our stay, a pool and the hot tub were closed to accommodate private parties. It would be better if these were hosted in areas that close earlier (like the swim-up bar at 6:00 PM) to avoid displacing guests from facilities that stay open until 7:00 PM. ​Nightlife Scale: The onsite nightclub and bars are fun but significantly smaller than what you might find at other major resorts. This didn't negatively impact my trip, but it’s worth noting if high-energy dancing is a priority for your itinerary. Beach cleanup fee: The hotel charges a 5 dollar clean up fee for the beach. ​Overall Verdict: I highly recommend Live Aqua for its service and atmosphere. I would definitely return! Also make sure to go to MB for habanero soup.

I am writing to express my disappointment regarding several significant issues during our recent stay. While the hotel staff was polite and helpful where possible, the logistical failures severely impacted our vacation experience. Key Issues Encountered: Room Discrepancy & Downgrade: We booked and paid for upgraded rooms but were placed in a standard room with two double beds upon arrival. Although promised a switch the next day, we were not moved until the third day. Service & Booking Disruptions: Due to being "checked out and re-checked in" daily while waiting for our room, we were unable to use the hotel’s restaurant reservation system. Consequently, we missed out on all but two specialty dining options. Inaccurate Amenity Information: The website states the main buffet is open all day; however, it was only available for breakfast. While breakfast was excellent, the lack of lunch and dinner options was a major inconvenience. Facility & Staffing Limitations: Pool: The water was too cold to use, and there was zero seating available for parents to supervise children. Bar Service: Guests were required to wait in long lines to order drinks before being allowed to sit at the bar, rather than being served while seated. Club: The club was severely understaffed with only one bartender and had extremely limited seating. Positives: I want to acknowledge that the rooms themselves were great once settled, and the staff remained professional and polite despite these systemic issues.

I stayed 4 days at this hotel and messaged them prior to my arrival asking that they provide me the best room available. A 4 night stay was C$1617– $400+ per night. I was brought behind the bar to a room, 3A, which, while it had an ocean view there was a concrete barrier and no beach access. Being beside the bar was also very unpleasant as the music was blaring and made it impossible to sleep. The room also did not have a television. one of the sinks would not drain, and the bathroom window did not close—which was unsettling as I could see right into the bar from the bathroom. The Safe was also inoperable. I informed the front desk that I was not happy with my room and of all the deficiencies. They accommodated my request to move, but insisted that I sign a document suggesting that they were doing so to “better my stay” not because the room was deficient. I was also asked to leave my room and not move into my new room until after check-in at 3 pm, such that I was denied access to a room during the day. I moved to room 41 which was significantly better and more in line with the photos advertised on their website. The difference between the two rooms is astounding. They also charged $10 USD extra per day when I arrived and for coffee pods when I checked out— there wasno warning that coffee was not included in the room Despite the fact that as a VIP/Platinum member, and entitled to a room upgrade, I believe I was given one of their worst beachfront rooms.
