Hotel Birger Karl is welcoming with very helpful and thoughtful staff; my room was relatively (double) spacious and well designed with contemporary decor and tub in which one can soak as well as a good shower and it was very clean. On the main floor there was a comfortable lounge and waiting area and...the breakfast was incredible with fresh fruits, yogourt, different breads, a selection of hot items, cereals, espresso and much more. I had one dinner there and while the menu offerings are small, the ingredients were high quality and everything was expertly prepared (&generous portions).

Beatuiful historic hotel in downtown Stockholm (Östermalm). Walkable to the Old Town (Gamla Stan) and Djurgården (with all the museums). The staff was incredibly helpful and kind. Our room was cleaned daily and we never saw the cleaning staff. The room was very beautiful and well maintained while still keeping the historic charm. Small things but still could have improved our stay/I wish I had known: 1)The rooms are small. We got a suite which was the size of a normal hotel room. 2)The AC does not really work in the room, which was OK becuase it was very cool in the evenings, but there is also no ceiling fan so the room got very toasty in the evening. 3) There is no door between the bathroom area and the bedroom so when I was getting ready in the morning I easily disturbed my sleeping husband. 4) There is one, very old elevator in the hotel, which broke towards the end of our stay, which made it very difficult to get to our room on the 6th floor. 5) There is a cocktail bar on the first floor, which we were excited to try, but it was NEVER open. We checked every evening of our week long stay. 6) Our minifridge was never restocked throughout our stay despite. We called down to request a refill but this was not done.

A beautiful property with such a friendly staff. Very comfortable and definitely feels quite upscale! This was likely the nicest place we stayed on our trip, and we would return without hesitation.

Loved the room and atmosphere!! Did not have a warm shower upon arrival. Had to let water run for awhile to get hot shower next day!! Great staff!!

Location was very central with access to everything! Staff were supper helpful as well with storing bags as we had a later flight. Breakfast was fresh and delicious; great way to start the day. When we come back to Stockholm it would be silly to not come back to this hotel.

Excellent service from the moment we arrived. Room was lovely . Location perfect with many great restaurants close by. Breakfast was great timings allowed for a morning stroll before enjoying and setting you up for the day. great bar and delious cocktails.

Spotlessly clean room. Great friendly welcome on arrival. And greeted warmly each time we returned after our days out and about. Great choice at breakfast and plentiful. There were staff making sure all choices were available throughout service. Highly recommend
