We have just had a 3 night stay at the Hotel and it was lovely. When we arrived the reception staff were very friendly and gave us a brief tour, when our room was ready we were again escorted there by a member of reception. The room was a great size with a small patio area overlooking the lush gardens. We had dinner in the restauarant on our first night, which was excellent, service was impeccable. We used the bar a couple of times, loving the idea that we got to choose our "Happy Hour", we also ate in the Bar on 2 occasions and again the food was excellent. Breakfast was very good with a great slection of food.The Hotel is very traditional and has a lot of character, we will hopefully return one day and would recommend to anyone who would like to be within 15 mins of the centre of Funchal but still stay in a "little oasis".

If it’s your first time in Madeira I’d suggest staying somewhere in city center, it takes 15 mins to get to this hotel. Very nice property and amenities. The staff and service is weak , shortage of staff. The breakfast buffet for a 5 starvhotel and the price was so weak as weak.

From the moment we were picked up at the airport, Carolina our driver and receptionist, was extremely pleasant, courteous, precise and always with a smile and happy to help (restaurant reservations, taxi arrangements, small breakfast for early morning before we left); other employees to recognize are Francisco and Claudia at the breakfast/dinner area as they were very attentive to us. Our room #11 was spacious, very clean with a beautiful open view of the Atlantic Ocean.Bed was very comfortable with three pillows for each guest. All white! Fruits and a liter bottle of water were provided at arrival in our room as well as a small bottle of water for each guest every day of our stay.Pool towels and a spacious bag for the pool area were provided. Breakfast was delicious and many varieties of fresh fruits on display. Varieties of fresh bread, cheeses. Omelette made upon request! Overall, I will highly recommend Albatroz Hotel! Thank you to the manager and the employees for making our stay a memorable experience!

The Hotel is absolutely gorgeous and in an amazing part of Funchal. The rooftop pool And bar are absolutely unbelievable with the best views in town. The staff are incredible and the rooms were cleaned impeccably. Possibly needing a little TLC in some parts of the room. But do not let it put you off absolutely fantastic would definetly return

Beautiful property, especially the outdoor seating areas. Room and property clean and well maintained, staff friendly and helpful.

Room was very good, the property was clean and quiet. Great view with helpful staff. Downside is there is realistically no parking at this location for visitors from US. There are only a few spots that are open to park, the rest are paid spots that require local parking app that cannot be downloaded on phone pinned to US. By the time I left I had figured out the parking somewhat but really was a drag on this trip. The high point for this location is that it was in walking distance to a really good restaurant “La Carbonara”. Not only was food and service very good they also had customer parking if you do not feel like a walk.
