We have just had a 3 night stay at the Hotel and it was lovely. When we arrived the reception staff were very friendly and gave us a brief tour, when our room was ready we were again escorted there by a member of reception. The room was a great size with a small patio area overlooking the lush gardens. We had dinner in the restauarant on our first night, which was excellent, service was impeccable. We used the bar a couple of times, loving the idea that we got to choose our "Happy Hour", we also ate in the Bar on 2 occasions and again the food was excellent. Breakfast was very good with a great slection of food.The Hotel is very traditional and has a lot of character, we will hopefully return one day and would recommend to anyone who would like to be within 15 mins of the centre of Funchal but still stay in a "little oasis".

Good basic 4 star hotel, as a base with a pool and breakfast it was fine for us. As long as a little tired decor doesn’t trigger you you’ll be great. Location is fantastic with a small park next door, shopping centre 5mins walk away and dozens of bars and restaurants nearby.

Nice property. Probably great for kids. Prices reasonable. Walking distance in Funchal to downtown and the waterfront. Negative. The bed was hard as a rock.

The staff is absolutely wonderful—helpful, polite, and attentive without being overly formal or intrusive. It is rare to find such genuinely high-quality service. The ocean-water swimming pool is simply stunning, probably the most beautiful one I have ever seen. We had a truly lovely stay.

What a wonderful hotel. The swimming pools, the grounds, the food, everything was excellent. It was so nice you could just stay there and not go anywhere else.
