Whales Bay Hotel was an amazing hotel. The grounds are beautiful. The amenities were great as well. The Pool was heated and a great spot to relax with lush greens and palm trees everywhere. The rooms were super clean, modern, and very comfortable. Also, the A/C worked perfectly with multiple zones in the room! The area is also beautiful! It is right by the water with hiking trails within walking distance.

Property is great. Staff are lovely. Need investment in room amenities and better planning for meals( long waiting time).

Beautiful, restful space with thoughtful amenities

This was the best hotel that we stayed at during our Sao Miguel trip. Walking distance to Terra Nostra. There is a mineral pool at this hotel as well. The restaurant was top notch. Breakfast room service was over the top. High ratings on all services. Friendly and helpful staff.

While I was at the hotel every night was entertainment. In the evening we would sit in the lobby and enjoy the music and a drink before going up for the evening.

Everything was nice except the rooms was not what we booked. We booked for 3 families and we all got different size rooms which caused conflict. Also the fact that everywhere we went smelled cat pee cause their was so many cats.

What an amazing stay. The rooms really are soundproof. Amazing staff, great breakfast, spotless rooms and a nice amenity spa.

Convenient, especially for those with a car

The Angra Marina Hotel has an amazing view of the harbour, and easy access off of one of the main roads and is a short walk down to the harbour and nearby shops and restaurants. Although be aware that the only entrance to the hotel is at the top of a steep hill and there is no access to/from town from the lower levels. However, the hotel itself is dated and poorly maintained - the elevators say they're going down but go up, the roof paint was peeling in the pool area, the bathrooms in the room smelled and the beds are past needing to be replaced. Additionally, several of the lights in our room (the junior suite) were controlled by a remote control, and there were no switches - so if you needed to use the bathroom in the night you needed to find the remote and remember which buttons did which lights. Lastly, we were expecting parking to be available at the hotel, however the hotel parkade looked abandoned and the exit was blocked off and chained close. When we asked about the parking, the staff told us the parkade was terrible, and it would be much better to use the street parking - which is primarily on the steep hill, or at the bottom of the hill.
