"Genuinely the best place we stayed our whole trip. If your looking for a budget friendly place to stay this should be it. The property is so pretty and the rooms are very nice. It is located in a great spot to walk around the whole medina. The host was one of the kindest people we met in morocco and was super helpful with navigation and storing our luggage. Madrasas, fondouks, palaces, residences, mosques and fountains are everywhere! But, be careful, this Medina is also the most labyrinthine, so my advice is to have a local and official guide with you, especially if you have no much time to visit the city  because you´ll probably get lost more than once! ;)

A luxury riad nestled in the old medina of Fes, which is a UNESCO world heritage site, is walking distance to so much of the old medina to discover - shopping, foods, markets, restaurants.

I learned later that there were both malaria and cholera epidemics that crossed North Africa during that time, and wondered if that was a contributing factor.
