The person who welcomed us was very helpful, the building was quiet and the bed comfortable. The view was nice but not stupendous. (Over the water which is good but on the other side was the more industrial part of Venice)That is it for the positives! But we are a little surprised at all the high evaluations, maybe because we had already spent 2 weeks in Venice in another place which was less expensive and much nicer. My companion gives this one 1 star and me 3 stars… so I averaged it at 2 stars. The reason is that for the price we did not expect: peeling plastic doors held together with scotch tape, a totally un-cosy sofa where it is hard to sit together, a one room scenario where one person cannot sleep if the other one is preparing coffee in the kitchen, a gloomy atmosphere, a so so clean bathroom, a stove with not all burners working, no lights over the stove which made it hard to cook at night, a shower repaired by rope, the noise of motor boats under the window early in the morning. Overall the lighting in the building and the apartment was pathetic. It could be an incredibly beautiful apartment if renovated and cared for. It is a prestigious address but the atmosphere and the decor of the place does not live up to it by any means. We really did not enjoy staying there, unfortunately.
