Hotel Roc Meler

Hotel Roc Meler

10/10 Excellent
"Comfortable Stay with Beautiful Views and Great Amenities We had a nice stay at Roc Meler Hotel in Andorra. The rooms were comfortable, with great views overlooking the town. The breakfast buffet was excellent, with a good variety of options to start the day. The hotel also offers a dinner buffet, which we didn’t try, and there is an Irish pub onsite serving burgers and staying open until late, which is a convenient option after a day of exploring. They also have a spa and massage services that we would love to try on our next visit. Private parking costs €18, but it’s a plus that the hotel has two EV charging stations, which was very convenient for us. The staff was friendly and welcoming throughout our stay. Overall, we really enjoyed our visit. There are plenty of amenities to enjoy, and we definitely plan to return for a longer stay to make the most of everything the hotel has to offer!"

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Ur?
The best area to stay in Ur, Occitanie, France, is directly within the village of Ur itself, or the neighbouring, slightly larger town of Bourg-Madame, which offers more amenities.

Ur is a small, quiet village located in the Pyrenees-Orientales department, known for its traditional mountain architecture and proximity to natural landscapes. It's an ideal base for those looking to explore the surrounding mountains and valleys, with easy access to hiking trails and stunning views. The village centre is small, featuring a historic church and a few local eateries.

For couples seeking a peaceful retreat with access to outdoor activities, Ur is perfect. You're just a short drive from the ski slopes of Font-Romeu Pyrénées 2000 in winter, and the hiking paths of the Cerdanya region are right on your doorstep in the warmer months. It provides a tranquil escape from busier tourist spots.

Bourg-Madame, just a couple of kilometres away, is a good alternative if you prefer a wider selection of shops, restaurants, and hotels. It sits right on the Franco-Spanish border, offering easy access to both countries.
When is the best time to go to Ur?
The best time to visit Ur, Occitanie, France, is during the spring (April to June) and autumn (September to October) months.

During spring, the weather is pleasantly mild, and the countryside is lush and green, making it ideal for exploring the natural beauty of the region. You'll find fewer crowds compared to the peak summer months, allowing for a more relaxed experience at archaeological sites and local attractions. It's a great time for outdoor activities like hiking and cycling.

Autumn also offers agreeable temperatures and fewer visitors. The changing colours of the vineyards and forests provide a picturesque backdrop, particularly in September and early October.
