We came too early for check in and were hoping we could just sit in the restaurant and wait but the hotel (male) staff SHOUTED at us from the balcony (even before we had come inside) that we are too early and “IT’S NOT OKAY” and waved us away. We left astonished. When we came back later my husband sat down to talk to him about it, and then the same staff member stood up with very aggressive body language and again raised his voice and did not...

Le Dauphin Hotel

Le Dauphin Hotel

10/10 Excellent
"This is a two star hotel wich is situated across the road from the bus, train and ferry port and 5 minutes walk to the city centre. The hotel is in an old building adjoining a bar which has no noise impact on the hotel rooms. The entrance is through a hallway shared with other apartments and is accessed via a lift. The room, while basic, has everytimng you need with a small bathroom with very good shower, good kingsized bed with clean fresh linen and very good air-conditioning. Our room looked out onto the main road and across to the port area. We had no impact from road noise. Staff were helpful and allowed us to store our luggage after check out."

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Ucciani?
The best area to stay in Ucciani is the village centre itself, particularly for travellers looking for a tranquil base to explore the region.

Ucciani is a small, traditional Corsican village located in the heart of the Prunelli Valley. The village is characterised by its stone houses, narrow, winding streets, and a central square where you'll find the local church and a few small eateries. It's truly a place to unwind and experience authentic Corsican life.

Couples often find Ucciani appealing for its peaceful setting and the opportunity for romantic walks through the surrounding countryside. The village is also a great base for exploring the nearby Gorges du Prunelli or enjoying a quiet evening under the stars.

For those who enjoy outdoor activities, Ucciani offers easy access to hiking trails and the natural beauty of the regional park.
When is the best time to go to Ucciani?
The best time to visit Ucciani is typically during the late spring (May to June) and early autumn (September to October) months.

These periods offer pleasant weather, with warm days superb for exploring the Corsican landscape without the intense heat and larger crowds of the peak summer season. The temperatures are comfortable for outdoor activities like hiking and enjoying the natural beauty of the region.

For those who enjoy outdoor activities, late spring is particularly good as the countryside is lush and green, and the wildflowers are in bloom. It's also a great time for couples looking for a relaxed escape, as the villages and trails are less busy, allowing for a more intimate experience.

Early autumn provides similarly mild temperatures, and the Mediterranean Sea is still warm enough for swimming.
