"This is the perfect place for an authentic Japanese experience. The staff are wonderful and the meals are superb. Tranquil surroundings with a 5 star multi-course meals each day for breakfast and dinner. The sauna and hot baths were great for winding down after a day of touring. Touring was easy because bus lines and train lines are nearby. We were sorry to leave the Tea House and really hope to return some day. "

"The owner was very lovely and polite, he prep matcha tea for welcoming us also offering fresh bread making in the morning for our breakfast but my family were very tired from a long day travelling and activities we did in the area, we just want to sleep in so we had to miss out on that. House was clean. The bath was the highlight for us. Just the tap in both toilets a bit hard to operate so we had to wash our hands in the bathroom instead."

Locally within walking distance there are ramen restaurants also temples and the Philosophers path. Suited me perfectly as I don't spend much time in hotel I like to be out taking photos. If I visit Kyoto again I would love to stay here again."

"I had a great stay at Nohga Hotel Kiyomizu Kyoto. The room was really spacious and I was kindly given an upgrade by reception, which was a lovely touch. The bakery in the lobby was fantastic as well – perfect for a relaxed breakfast and great coffee. Overall, a very comfortable and enjoyable stay. I’d happily return."

"This hotel is an old-school 5-star hotel with doormen, concierge service, etc. I say "old-school" because it shows in the decor: quite conservative, a bit dated especially when compared to a more modern 5-star hotel. But the staff across the board are wonderful, incredible polite, and happy to be of service in every way. Very typical of professional Japanese service. One obvious weakness: The "business" center is one simple computer. But the rooms are equipped with healthy wi-fi so I didn't need the services of a business center. It is wonderfully located in Kyoto with tons of restaurants and shopping near by."

"The hotel was very nice. First of all the location is just perfect. You can walk pretty much anywhere, and otherwise you have a subway line just a few minutes away. it's also very convenient to move in taxi. The room was spacious and very nice. It had good amenities, a coffee maker, a nice TV, tons of storage space, and the bed was super comfortable. The bathroom was great too. And everything was ultra clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful. And breakfast was very good, totally worth it. I would definitely recommend it and go back my next time in Kyoto."
