Enjoy Frontier Park, shops, restaurants, and night scene - all within walking distance. The newly renovated 2 bedroom and 2 full bathroom apartment can easily accommodate groups of six. The completely updated kitchen has granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, and a dishwasher. Convenient in-house washer and dryer available for extended stays Note to guest: 1) No visitors allowed unless discussed with owner. 2) $15 extra guest fee after 4 guests 3) Air conditioner minimum temperature is 72 Fahrenheit. All units have new air conditioners. But the red brick walls have no insulation and during the hot weather if the air conditioner is pushed too hard, it will create blocks of ice inside it then quit working until the ice melts. It was 78 degrees when we arrived Friday & didn’t go down to 72 until we left Sunday. The host came to look but kind said it’s old, sorry. Understandably it’s a historic building but with the temperature outside over 100 it was miserable. The upstairs bed was very squeaky. Luckily we didn’t need it but if you’re at 6 ppl max..that’s tough it’ll keep everyone awake if you move in the slightest. There was a “water boil order” that was enacted Thursday & host didn’t inform us which isn’t right since we drank water Friday from the Tap. While order isn’t host fault not telling us is. The loft was Very clean & host were communicative but would’ve liked the system turned on for us well in advance to avoid 2 days of a hot apartment. Overall okay, if AC was working properly I’d consider rebooking. ##### Emily D. It is listed 1 bed downstairs. 1 futon downstairs 4 beds upstairs. We found the futon in the living room to be different and less quality version of what is photographed. Also no linens for this futon so not usable as a bed.We also found the seating in the dinning area had enough chairs. But the quality of chairs was not great. We did not feel comfortable sitting and chatting in the space. The listing does state the temperature must stay at 72\. While that didn’t sound like an issue, we found the temperature upstairs was so high it was uncomfortable to sleep. There are ceiling fans but not enough airflow to make it comfortable. We went in May. I would have to assume it’s unbearable in August. Parking is noted as available. There is one parking space for this unit. All other streets are 2 hour parking only. This particular weekend the whole street was closed for a market. Per the host they don’t ticket so just park anyway. Just be aware if you are bringing more than one vehicle you may be searching for a safe place to park. In the listing it mentions being above a coffee shop and there may be some noise. What it doesn’t say is the coffee shop is open 10 am to midnight. After they close the employees sit out front on the sidewalk and have a party. Friday it was late before they left, all on motorcycles. Saturday we had to call the police to ask them to leave at 2 am. I find it hard to believe the host had no idea this was excessive. ##### Chrissee D. My sister and I love to stay here when we spend the weekend on our annual shopping trip to St. Charles. Gloria is a great host with a great location. ##### Diane B. Lots of helpful touches, like blackout curtains to the street. It was stated that there was street noise from the coffee shop but it lasted til about midnight on Friday. Burned out light bulbs in main level bathroom made it hard for 5 adults to get ready for a wedding. So glad there was a second bathroom with adequate lighting. Reading lights in bedroom could not be used because cords were missing. No one had the type of cord. Kitchen well stocked. Good use of space. ##### Sarah S. Very nice easy location to walk to everything. We did not know the coffee shop below would be open past midnight so it was a little disturbing to walk back after the bars to find people sitting in front of the door.
