But noise carries and young Costa Ricans love their motorcycles. We were simply asked for a $200 security deposit with no explanation of hotel amenities—no Wi-Fi details, brochure, or map. The hotel appears poorly managed and understaffed, and some staff members do not speak English.When we were escorted to our room, we immediately noticed issues. The bar fridge was not stocked, and the floors were still dirty from previous guests. We had booked an ocean view room, but the view was extremely limited—this should honestly be labeled as a “partial ocean view,” as the advertising is misleading.While the resort itself is small, quiet, and the property is visually nice with beautiful sunsets, the room had serious cleanliness and maintenance problems. The towels were dirty, yellowed, ripped, and had makeup stains. The glasses had visible lipstick marks. The sliding door did not close properly, leaving a gap that allowed bugs inside. The blackout curtain initially didn’t work, and once fixed, we saw it was heavily stained and possibly moldy. Although we reported these issues right away, it was disappointing that the room had not been properly cleaned to begin with. We were also locked out of our room multiple times due to malfunctioning key cards (the door lock batteries had to be replaced). The safe didn’t work and required maintenance to reset it. Towels were not replaced daily, and the shower had low pressure with barely warm water. We had a great time, great vibe and had everything we needed. We enjoyed the food (smaller selection but different themes and items everything). Wait staff and bartenders and front desk very helpful. Our room had some things like poor water pressure, one shower was cold. Some ants I. One of the room but they kept to themselves on the wall and didn’t bother us too much. Amazing sunsets and beautiful view. Jigged into town via beach in 20 minutes…walk in 45 minutes. Maybe 1.9 miles? Can also rent bikes in town for $10/day. Beach is very bike-able with packed sand and saw people biking all the time. Hotel tents for $30/day and they are newer and nicer than what we saw in town. We rented a car and 6 minutes to town. Lots of restaurants and shops in town. We enjoyed our stay very much. Beach was close also looks like they have another building ON the beach . The breakfast was good ..the listing on hotels said it was included HOWEVER it is a charge per person . It was listed free breakfast and after they said there was a fee i showed then the hotels.com listing befroe i got to talk to manager it had changed . After we pointed it out.. so they discounted us and we were fine with it as we only ate there once..was good .. and they were very nice people ( still think it shoulda been totally included for us since it is what it said origionally but since they were nice it was not a big deal..plus there is grocery round the corner which we bought some stuff so we didn't eat out every time. Bottom line its a good place , felt safe and lots of kids at pool..which we as a couple we didn't mind but if your lookijg for adults only it may not be for you with a small pool ( was nice and warm fyi.) Both are fantastic! The staff here are amazing and go above and beyond to make you feel welcome and help you select some great adventures without getting ripped off. The food is top notch (and reasonably priced). Other restaurants are nearby too. The pool is small, but adequate to take a dip. The room was clean, and the A/C was great. There was a lot of room (we stayed in the King Suite The wifi was accessible everywhere on property, making staying connected to home and sharing our adventures on social easy. It also feels very private. The only downside comes down to preference. The bed was hard as a rock. If you like a firm bed, then perfect. We like medium firm. Maybe they would've had a mattress topper if we asked. But we persevered. Otherwise, for the price, this is an amazing find."
