This is a great motel! The outside and inside are well maintained and our room was comfortable. Air conditioning works great and bed was good. Love the location of this place near Santa Clara University and central San José. We’ll definitely stay here again when visiting the university.

My daughter and I only stayed one night, but the owner is super kind, the room was clean and inviting, water was hot, it’s in a very convenient location, and we got to park right in front of our room. Definitely recommend staying here and will stay here when I’m ever in the area.

we were pleasantly surprised. You could think Sterling Inn was just a traditional motor lodge, but everything looked brand new. Structure, furniture, linens, everything was sparkling. The host was friendly and funny. We even appreciated the small touch that the parking area had no curb up to the doors, making access for disabled folks and luggage easier.

Very clean room and property overall. The area is nice, there’s a Safeway grocery store about a 10-15 minute walk from the property and plenty of restaurants and coffee shops across the street. Lots of parking for guests and overall peaceful. If you get a downstairs room you can hear the people above moving around, so if you’re a light sleeper I suggest getting a 2nd floor room. Fridge and microwave were a nice bonus. Owner is very nice.
