Nestled on a quiet beach with the most spectacular views of the Atlantic Ocean, is this tropical home away from home. Enjoy tranquility with the exception of the waves crashing against the shore away from the usual sounds of the city. This piece of paradise is ideally located for the guest looking for pure comfort and relaxation at Exuma Point, located on the northern end of Great Exuma Island. One of the main features of this 700 square feet island-style cottage, is its spacious wooden deck overlooking the turquoise waters of the Atlantic Ocean. The wooden, winding steps, amidst the trees and natural fauna of the property, lead from the deck to a quiet, secluded beach. Imagine sunbathing, moon gazing, reading a book or relaxing with your favorite tropical drink in one of the comfortable patio lounge chairs. You may even want to prepare your meal for the day on the gas grill from this point of view. If dining in is your preference, a fully equipped kitchen with major appliances awaits you. Make yourself at home with a standard size Whirlpool cooking range, refrigerator and microwave oven; toaster oven, beverage blender and coffee maker; and a full complement of cookware, bakeware, dinnerware, drinking glasses and flatware. A stackable washer and dryer stored in its own room also complements the amenities of this modern cottage. Meals can be served at the four-seat, glass dinette table at the center of the open floor living space. If you need to unwind before turning in at the end of the day or simply just want to relax and watch a favorite television program, do so in the comfort of a sofa which also opens to a bed for an extra guest or a loveseat, and smart television. Stay in touch with family and friends or conduct business transactions via wireless internet connection provided. Before turning in for the night, rinse the sand from your feet and enjoy a warm shower in a spacious, glass enclosed shower. Complimentary soap and hair dryer are provided. End the night comfortably in a queen size bedroom, fully stocked with linen, bath and beach towels, ironing board and iron. Choose to leave curtains and blinds opened for an ocean view rest from your bed or drawn to block out the island's starry skies. After a restful night, plan a day of adventure with one of the many tour guides to visit the world renown swimming pigs and Thunderball Grotto, the undersea cave where the famous James Bond movie, Thunderball, was filmed. You must also include a visit to the tammed sharks, iguanas, turtles, undersea piano, and plane wrecks, just to name a few. Oh! a visit to one of the picturesque sand bars is also a must. While there, ensure your guide makes a bowl of fresh conch salad - an island favorite. Sophia and Don will be more than delighted to assist with tour guide recommendations and bookings. A recommended listing is also provided inside the cottage. If you are not too tired to try the nightlife or prefer to dine away from the cottage, there are some restaurants and bars just a few minutes walk on the beach and a few minutes drive recommended. The view was to die for from the deck, the living room and bedroom. And the stairs that led down to the water was the most stunning view!! Especially for sunsets and when the full moon was out. The beach was dessertsed with just the two of us and we sat out everyday swimming and enjoying the view. The area is on the north end of the island and is very quiet and secluded, which is what we were looking for. There are nearby restaurants and stores for supplies. Shoreline was our favorite place to eat. The cottage was very clean, well maintained and had anything you could ask for in amenities. There were nice beach chairs, blow up floats, snorkel gear, plenty of beach towels as well as towels, wash clothes for the bathroom. Also lots of extra bed linens. It was fully stocked with toilet paper, paper towels, spices for the kitchen etc...we will definitely stay with Sofia again when we return to Exuma...you just can't get better than this! This was our first trip to Exuma, and after staying at Point of View, we’re already planning our return. My husband and I have stayed in countless rental properties around the world, and this one easily ranks in our top three. It’s the kind of hidden gem you almost don’t want others to find, so it stays as peaceful and private as it is now. (But here I am, writing a review. lol)We spent our mornings swimming and snorkeling right off the beach in front of the house, especially heading north toward the pier and along the rock wall by the Point of View sandbar. At night, we loved stargazing from the deck and even spotted the Milky Way, absolutely magical!The house is beautifully equipped with everything you need to unwind and soak it all in.Other highlights included snorkeling at Three Sisters and renting a boat from Minn’s for the day, highly recommend! It’s about a 40 min drive into town but it’s not a bad drive at all since they repaved all the roads over the last few years. We loved our stay and will be back! ##### mike s. She was quick to resolve very minor issues (we are very understanding when something unexpected happens, it’s all about how it’s managed). If you’re looking to be close to stores and restaurants, this isn’t your place to stay. If you’re willing to plan ahead and do most of your meals at the house or eat early and get back during daylight when it’s easier to see the roads, this won’t bother you. It’s 100% worth it to sit on the beach in front of the house with nobody in sight. We loved the beach just around the corner from the house (a few people but definitely not crowded) and a slightly busier beach a short drive away. We preferred this end of the island to the busier side.
