Walk-on Sandy Beach with Outstanding Ocean View, Qualicum Bay

This lovely suite is situated on the ground floor of our two story home on a long sandy beach with views of Texada, Lasquiti and Hornby Islands. Great for a walk while enjoying the salt air. Or, get out your fishing rod and enjoy fishing on what is arguably the best fishing beach in the area. Arrowsmith Golf Course is five minutes away. Just 200 meters away is a pub with food and live music as well as another restaurant. An easy walk, no need to drive after enjoying a cool one.

The home having just been renovated is well appointed. Relax and enjoy the ocean, whatever the weather, from the cozy living room or while having breakfast at the dining room table.

The ground floor deck is at one end of the house and the deck for the upstairs is at the other end of the house, both very separate and private from each other.

The large kitchen is fully equipped with all appliances and a propane BBQ on the deck. Just bring your groceries. All three bedrooms feature queen size beds with quality new linens and pillows. The bathroom is completely renovated and includes towels. Please supply your own beach towels.

This house has all the comforts of home including high speed wireless internet, TV, Cable, DVD, CD, Telephone (free calls Canada/USA), washer/dryer and a new wood airtight fireplace insert with wood supplied.

There is so much to do – walk or play botchi ball on the sandy beach, watch the wildlife, which includes seals, sea lions and eagles, go for a swim, or go fishing. Between Nile Creek and Big Qualicum River, this is one of the best fishing beaches on the coast. There are numerous golf courses within 5 to 30 minutes.

Great seafood abounds in this area and you can easily purchase fresh oysters from Fanny Bay Oysters or fresh scallops from Island Scallops. Locally caught fish are available at many stores. In the summer, there are various farmer’s markets (Courtenay, Qualicum Beach, Coombs Market) where you can buy amazing fresh produce. There is an excellent grocery store, coffee shop and a liquor store just 4 minutes drive.

There are great walking trails in the neighbourhood as well as many parks within 1 hours drive including: Horne Lake Provincial Park, Englishman Falls Provincial Park, Little Qualicum Falls Provincial Park, Milner Gardens, Mount Washington and Cathedral Grove Provincial Park with its ancient trees.

Qualicum Bay is a magical place that will create outstanding holiday memories for you and your family.

We had a wedding to attend in Campbell River, and stayed in Qualicum Bay as we wanted small town setting with ocean front. With a walkout just steps from the beach, you can sit and listen to the ocean while enjoying the deck and view as well as hearing the seals barking. During low tide we took a 45 minute walk on the beach, and found many different and unique shells. Jim was very courteous and friendly when we saw him, and includes a binder with information about the home and some area activities and farmers markets.We highly recommend this property and will stay there again if we get pack to the area.

Property was clean, location great, three bedrooms great, kitchen had pretty much everything needed, the sitting area VERY dated, dark furniture and decor and though there were 6 of us, not enough seating in the living room for six to sit and chat. it is very much a basement apartment and needs brighting up.

Jim was a great host, providing help when needed. Stand outs here were the beautiful ocean view, the location and the comfort of the accommodation. We enjoyed walks on the beach, all sorts of outings and Netflix viewed from a very comfy couch. Would love to stay here again.

Great stay at this property, the suite itself is great, was very happy with the kitchen and layout. Loved the location it gave you peace and solitude while still being within driving distance of many activities, and beach was wonderful during low tide! My little one had so much fun playing in the sand. Would definetly stay again.

The ocean front setting was lovely. The apartment was very spacious, well designed and decorated. It had the most conveniences of any suite i have stayed in the past. There were eating places nearby and great grocery store in Bowser. I received a second access code from VRBO which made things confusing but was addressed by the owner before checkin.

Beautiful location - just walk out the door onto the sandy beach. Incredible views. The suite has everything needed - especially in the kitchen. The Sandbar cafe is a short distance away and has amazing food. We also visited the Farmers market in Qualicum. We didnt get the chance this time, but my husband still talks about wanting to return to try out some ocean fishing.

We just finished our third stay at this property and would highly recommend it. The property has incredible ocean views on a beautiful sandy beach - lots of wildlife can be seen including whales, seals and bald eagles. It is a great location away from the touristy areas of Qualicum but still some great places (tacos, ice cream, pub) within walking distance. The house is always clean and well stocked, with lots of space for our family. We’ve already booked for 2024 and can’t wait to be back. Thanks Jim!
