Find hotels in Prinos from CA $50

The best area to stay in Prinos is along the main coastal road, particularly around the central beachfront and the area just east towards the small harbour.

This stretch of coastline is the heart of Prinos, offering direct access to the beach and a selection of tavernas and shops. You'll find many accommodations here, from larger hotels to smaller, family-run apartments, all within easy walking distance of the sea. The main road, often referred to locally as the "beach road," runs parallel to the shore, making it very convenient to get around on foot.

Couples looking for a relaxing beach holiday will find this area ideal. The beachfront hotels often provide sun loungers and umbrellas, and there are plenty of seaside tavernas for romantic dinners with a view of the Aegean Sea. The gentle pace of life here makes it great for unwinding.

For families, staying near the central beachfront is also an excellent choice. The beach itself is generally calm and suitable for children, and many accommodations offer family-friendly amenities.

The best time to go to Prinos is during the shoulder seasons of late April to early June and September to early October.

During these periods, the weather is pleasantly warm, ideal for exploring the local area or relaxing by the sea, without the intense heat and larger crowds of mid-summer. You'll find that the local tavernas and shops are fully open, but the atmosphere is more relaxed, allowing for a more authentic experience. Flights and accommodation also tend to offer better value during these times.

For couples seeking a quiet escape, these shoulder months provide the superb balance. You can enjoy strolls along the beaches near Prinos, such as the one in Skaleta, or take day trips to nearby Rethymno for its Venetian harbour and old town, all while avoiding the busiest tourist rush. The sea is also warm enough for swimming.

Families with younger children might also find the shoulder seasons appealing. The milder temperatures are more comfortable for little ones, and popular attractions like the Reptisland animal park are less crowded, making for a more enjoyable visit.
