"We had an incredible time at Monte da Vilharinha. Driving into the property is like something out of a movie. The rural landscape boasts quintessential while buildings, herds of cows with bells, fields of flowers and streams. When we arrived we were greeted by Jafer and the property dog cookie. Jafer was the most incredible host guiding us around the property, letting us know where to take the (free) bikes and available to answer any questions via WhatsApp at any time. Breakfast is included in the mornings where the team will prepare you eggs and bacon or you can choose from a wide and fresh assortment of foods. We could not have asked for a more peaceful or beautiful stay just outside of carrapeteira. "

"Incredible place! The space was huge and so comfortable. I just wish we had more time there. We were there at 1 but couldn’t check in until 4 which was unfortunate as it would have been nice to enjoy the apartment longer and have time at the pool. Next time we will stay for a few more nights!"

"Place is great, only issue was cold showers both when we arrived and also in the morning. Not sure why but not what you want when you have hiked all day. "

"Although well located, our unit needed a fair amount of TLC. in particular, the sofas were very dirty. As for the beds, the mattress needed a full replacement. I had to sleep on the couch in order not to feel pain from my back. As for the service, we had a good experience with the restaurant personnel as well as the purser. But the reception employee provided a sub par service. A final word, this resort has not the structure for individuals having a mobility impairment. "

"We were a party of 7 adults and three kids (12,10 and 4) and we found this to be a lovely villa well positioned close to all the amenities in the area and five minutes from Salema beach which is very suitable for all ages. The pool and garden area were great and very private with a great mix of all day sun and shade for the less sun happy. The well appointed kitchen, outdoor terrace above the pool and lounge/dining area with a good range of TV programmes for all ages made meals and leisure time a pleasure for all. The bedrooms and en suite shower rooms were all very comfortable. "

"We had an amazing week staying at this villa – perfect for two families! There was plenty of space both indoors and outdoors, so everyone could relax together or enjoy some quiet time alone. The outdoor area was a highlight, with a great pool, a relaxing hot tub, and lots of space for both kids and adults to unwind.The hammock was a favorite spot for afternoon reading and naps, and we loved cooking in the well-appointed kitchen and grilling meals on the outdoor BBQ. Each bedroom had air conditioning, which was a real plus, especially during the warmer nights.Everything was clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully set up – we couldn’t have asked for a better place to spend our vacation. Highly recommended!"

"We absolutely loved the house, location and the host was very good at communication. We recommend this home if you are looking for a peaceful and relaxing vacation. The foosball table provided a night of competitive family fun! We recommend walking through the town although it is quite hilly. We recommend the Carrapateira Museum, exploring the quiet village and the hike to Praia de Bordeira about 20 mins. The Microbar in town had great food and service. Pizza Pazza was a short drive and worth it. "

"Lovely peaceful property located between fantastic beaches but the property is run down (massive hole on kitchen ceiling, rusty tables and sofas, broken picture frames, extra unwanted furniture piled out in our studio, chipped dishes, stained sofa, damaged cushion...). It felt like a hostel. The cleaner and person in charged of the breakfast lives on site and is very unwelcome, she constantly makes you feel like you are in her space. We were told that we were allowed to check in earlier but she was so unhappy that we were force to leave and return later. You can rent surf stuff cheap but is all damaged. You can also rent bikes which are dirty and rusty but they are fun, worth doing it!"
