Somesville is known for its iconic white footbridge, a favorite photography spot that spans a tranquil mill pond, reflecting the village’s postcard-perfect beauty. The town is rich in history, with the Somesville Museum & Gardens preserving its legacy as the first European settlement on the island.  
  
Despite its quiet, residential nature, Somesville is centrally located, providing easy access to both Acadia National Park and the surrounding towns of Mount Desert Island. Whether you’re drawn to its historic charm, scenic landscapes, or peaceful waterfront, Somesville offers a serene retreat in one of Maine’s most treasured locations.

The roadway next to the building is Maine State Route 102 that has traffic passing through at all hours. The speed limit on this road is 25MPH, and there is a possibility of noise from traffic to be heard in the unit, even at night.  
  
There is another unit above this unit and there is a chance to hear a noise from the other unit.

This place was excellent, fully equipped kitchen with laundry in unit. Great communication from the team. Easy access to everything in Acadia (longest trip was 22 minutes to Jordan pond). Plenty of space for pack n play crib in bedroom. Large closets. The only things to note: the ceilings are thin so you can hear the folks upstairs walk around and talk, the cooling for the apartment is in the bedroom so using the oven and stove heats up the living room—we went in the fall so opening windows was no big deal, the shower is a little narrow, and the property itself is near to the road so you can hear some road noise, but this is not bad. We had a great stay and we would absolutely go back!

#### Charming little place to lay your head and relax

The apartment was very clean and well equipped. Bed was comfy. Nice private outdoor space too. Location was perfect to get to all activities. If I had to say one thing that needed improvement, it was the shower head and to have one more set of towels. That being said, I'm giving it 5 stars and would stay again. Thank you to our hosts for our relaxing, worry free get a way!

#### Incredible cottage

This place was amazing. By far one of the cleanest, well decorated, and stocked places we have ever stayed at. We have absolutely no complaints or changes whatsoever. We stayed over Easter Weekend with my wife and 2 kids (6 and 8). It was an easy walk up to the beach, and they even supplied beach equipment! It was in a quiet neighborhood but still a very short drive to restaurants and attractions.

#### Great spot on Mt. Desert

My wife and I couldn't be happier with our stay in Mt. Desert. Check in was super easy with precise directions to the place and instructions about the key, Wi-Fi etc. The place itself was super cozy. The kitchen and living area was perfect for our limited time at the place. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. The shower was a bit of squeeze but it worked and the water was hot. The place itself is located between the different areas that we wanted to visit so it was very convenient. The checking out process was easiest I've ever experienced. Overall, we couldn't recommend this place high enough.

#### Wonderful Location Near Acadia National Park

Cute house in a great location which is centrally located to the many sites of Acadia National Parks and surrounding areas. Very comfortable bed. Great place for a couple.

I would definitely stay here again, especially for a winter visit to Maine. Such a sweet, cozy, and clean stay. Perfect for two people.

#### A very functional place; busy road is the only downside

The rental was clean, functional, and comfortable. The location of the rental was good for exploring Mt. Desert Island as it was very central. However the road it's on was quite busy even in the early morning and this made for a noisy experience. This said, we'd rent it again in a flash if we came back this area.

I have nothing but good things to say about Willowbrook. Not far from the destinations we wanted to see, and where we wanted to go. It was a quiet, easy to access, cute little place, perfect for 2 people. Already talking about coming back next year!
