Drove around in taxi trying to find alternative accommodation for the night. Next morning went to view accommodation, NOTHING LIKE DESCRIPTION. Horrible. We expected 1 bedroom entire apartment, instead poky room and share amenities, a guest already there. Looks like building site in front, ugly shack for view. The space is still shared with other guests, next time we will just take the entire space as it was a little uncomfortable with other guests there in the other rooms. "The property was relatively quiet with a great view. The complimentary breakfast was decent enough but with very limited options. The menu was a bit pricey. A tv and a little fridge would've been a very nice addition to the room which was basic. Didn't like that the pool had a deep end because it was hard to relax when I'm constantly watching the kids. Rooms do need some attention to make more accommodating. Two underutilized areas were the pool bar and general bar area. The general bar area had nice seating and a wonderful view but dilapidated and unused. But despite the flaws, the family loved it and want to revisit."

"Room was clean, staff was very helpful and friendly, location was great. The direction instructions to get to the location makes a lot of sense as long as you are paying attention to every detail. I love the seclusion away from commotion. The view was beautiful up on the hill. I will be staying here again in the near future, God-willing."

"Everyone is so welcoming here . Jay was above and beyond providing great communication with all the information needed to prepare for the stay, and his mom Angela is very warm and kind and cooks amazing meals, I loved all the fresh whole foods and juices . The location is a perfect base for doing the Blue Mountain peak hike. There is also a river that you can hike to and swim in. They also grow and sell their own coffee! The guesthouse is only reachable by 4wd, if you don’t have that they can arrange a ride/ pick you up . I was able to take my rental sedan as close as Hagley gap but coming from Portland there were parts of the mountain roads that were pretty sketchy, having to ford a river and go up a pretty steep hill. It might not be passable if it’s been raining. Also Google Maps directions had some errors. Driving to/from Kingston the roads are much better."
