"Topside really is a 10. The property is larger than we usually like, but it is built and managed in such a way that it feels intimate. The location is beautiful and is close to the harbor center, yet it feels tucked away. Breakfast was lovely, and the staff provides treats and beverages to keep you feeling week cared for."

"The location is unmatched. Right on the bay, the views were spectacular. The problem comes with the cleanliness and upkeep of the place. Our room was ready when we arrived by they forced us to wait until the dot of check-in time to access it. When we went inside our room, it was obvious the room had been sitting dormant for a while. Two wine glasses were sitting on the floor by a table with caked-on dried wine. On walks around the property, it was obvious some amenity locations were in need of refurbishment but they weren't high-use places so it didn't seem like the staff cared. Overall, you can't beat the location. At one time it was probably the crown jewel of Boothbay but they also appear to be resting on their laurels a bit. I would probably return, but with a bit lower expectations. You're booking it for the views and location."

"The Magnolia House was the perfect location for ocean views and proximity to trails and “town.” The house was comfy and we felt very at home with our kids and dog. The host was responsive and helpful. We loved the porch off the main bedroom upstairs for watching sunsets, chatting, and playing games."
