The Shipbuilder's retreat was well appointed in every way! Wide open, well cared for, and comfortable. We enjoyed coffee on the deck and playing games in the evening. It was a convenient trip to the local grocery store, and was very near to all the beauty and joys of the Harbor, light house's, LL Bean (an hour), and hiking. We LOVE it! Thank you to our hosts for providing a space that made our trip outstanding. I am sorry that I was remiss in posting this review! I was surprised to see that I hadn't done so. The space was sparkling clean, well designed, and very comfortable. The property is a duplex (separated by two single car garages adding sound insulation and privacy) nestled in the woods but with very nice landscaping. It is close to shopping, downtown Boothbay, and access to local sites making it very convenient while still being tucked away. All the main entertainment apps are available on the TVs for your personal sign in. I have two recommendations: the main sofa needs to be repaired since the seat seems to have collapsed a bit, and a non-slip mat should be provided for the bathtub as it is very slippery when wet. One may have been there and we missed it, but we were able to purchase one at the Family Dollar down the road. Overall, however, this is a wonderful place that we would visit again and would highly recommend!! Thank you for your hospitality! ##### Suzanne G. The unit was just as pictured except for a large sectional for additional seating. Very clean and up to date. Location was good easy to get into Boothbay Harbour as well as traveling to near by towns like Damariscotta. It was a nice quiet location to return to in the evening. Bed was very comfortable. It's 2 miles from a grocery store and drug store, and also very close to town, where there are 1/2 dozen great seafood restaurants. The house is nicely furnished, and comfortable. The lighting is actually great -- you just have to find the switches on the far wall. The heat and cooling worked well. ##### Pamela P. Everything our group needed - very comfortable and within a quick drive to downtown Boothbay. Rental was off a busy road but was very quiet and peaceful.
