"We stayed 2 nights, the property was beautiful right in the middle of Masai Mara. The rooms were good except that they were a little too dark. Little more lighting would have been good. We had the presidential suite so we had the whole suite to ourselves which was nice. Food was good, lot of variety (vegetarian and indian food options). One downside was power getting cut both nights we were there for a little time."

"Amazing safari camp! We loved every second of our stay. Special location with access to Maasai Mara but located on conservancy with elephants and giraffes surrounding area. Maasai guards escort you to camp always felt safe and cared for. The staff is amazing. Many are Maasai and are passionate about sharing their culture and knowledge with you. Took walking safari with Nixon - learned so much. Abraham was our safari guide - incredible person with amazing gift to find animals. Saw everything - including rhinos and leopards!!! We will never forget this trip and can’t wait to come back. Food was excellent - Lynette and Regina gave caring service. Recommend highly and hope to return soon! Ansante Entumoto ❤️. "

"We just completed our stay at Mara Intrepid camp. It was an unforgettable experience! Great location right on the Talek River. Excellent food with lots of options (plus a full bar), and the staff really go out of their way to ensure the comfort of each and every guest. The tents have lots of space and all the comforts we are used to at home. If you’re booking a safari game drive with them, do insist on a Toyota Land Cruiser over the Land Rover."

"This place is awesome! The tented structure was awesome and the bathrooms attached to each structure were modern and clean. After just a few short hours of being there, the Maasai guards knew who we were and where our tent was. At night when it was dark, they would walk with with us shining a light to make sure we could see. The food was 10/10. When I went to the bar and asked for a bottle of water for my room, they brought it to my tent. The whole staff was so friendly and the service was outstanding! I definitely hope to return because it was such a great experience. They also had a really cool traditional Maasai dance one night during dinner. "

"The location and the view you have from the hotel is as promised from their pictures. The only establishment within the park. Top service from all the staff. They give you the feeling of belonging and being a family . Special thanks to Duncan, Denis, Grace , Daniel and if you go there make sure you book a spa session with Judy ! "Mara Major Camp is the perfect place to stay for an authentic Kenyan safari experience. The lodge staff are local Maasai that truly make the place special. We were the only guests at the camp because we stayed at the beginning of the rainy/off season and they were so attentive to us, taking care of all our needs. The food is great and the chef works hard to present you wonderful meals. He also catered to our weird food needs. One of the Maasai took us on game drives around Maasai Mara Reserve and did a fantastic job driving and getting us close to the animals. He took us to see Lion cubs, cheetah cubs, and even a leopard cub! We also watched a Lion hunt and kill! Spectacular experience! The complaint I have has nothing to do with the camp, the stay, or the camp staff, but rather the false information advertised on Expedia. I don’t know if this is Expedia’s fault or the owners that run the camp off site. First, the camp is advertised as “all inclusive.” This is not true. You only get the lodging and meals, but you’re hit with ridiculous extra fees for anything else: transportation, game drives, other activities, anything to drink besides water, etc. So I warn when booking, this high price you’re paying for your stay doesn’t cover much. Second, the advertisement claims you will have free transportation from the nearest airstrips to the camp and back again. This is also not true and we were hit with another unexpected charge to get to the airstrip after our stay. Be warned. "
