About this property

Two Track Bear Shack

  • Two Track Bear Shack is just as it sounds a small cabin near several trails where you can ride, quads, dirt, bikes, snowmobiles and SXS all day. This small cabin has a loft with two twin beds suitable for 2 kids or 2 smaller adults. I am 5'5 and about 120lbs and it is very comfortable for me! Down in the main space is a queen size pull out sofa that sleeps 2, and a futon chair that sleeps 1. The closest point for water is about a 10 minute drive to Lake Missaukee or a half hour drive over to Houghton Lake both are simply beautiful in the summer. But Houghton Lake has some wonderful ice fishing in the winter. We love to sit by the fire and watch all the wild life across the way, from deer all the way to bear we have seen it all. (Hence the name Two Track Bear Shack)

Truly amazing little get away. She even supplies charcoal, spices etc...such an awesome touch. It says pet friendly and its sooo much more. There are pet dishes and a couple extra leashes and even a pad if your fur baby needed it. I could go on and on about this place..its simply the perfect get away place.

Nicer Than A Vegas Hotel

We are from Vegas and every year I find a "shack" listing to take my husband to for my birthday because he is terrified of Bigfoot and the woods and it makes me happy to torture him. This year's shack adventure was so nice he actually enjoyed himself. The Two Track Bear Shack is like one of those tiny homes on TV. Like, someone put so much care and love into this place. It's super clean, has more kitchen utensils than Gordon Ramsey, the bathroom is stocked with towels and even extra tampons. The decor is adorable. Every single thing matches and is bear themed. The ceiling fan pulls are bears. The light switch covers are bears. The door stopper matches the curtain hardware and all the curtains are red and black check. The loft is adorable but my husband and I are too heavy for the pull down stairs so we had the kid throw down the mattress from up there and we all slept on the floor. The mattresses are wrapped so they don't get bugs. I didn't pull out the couch bed so I don't know if it is comfortable but given everything else, I'm sure it's nice as well. They provided tons of pillows and sheets and blankets. The kitchen had spices and coffee filters. We left a small bag of coffee for the next people. The kids had fun running around outside, we had a bonfire and made marshmallows. The most disappointing part is that my husband slept soundly and didn't turn all Jack Nicholson in the Shining like he usually does.
