BEACHES & CRITTERS: The beach size in Hawaii varies month to month due to weather, heavy surf, strong currents, and tides. Due to Maui’s rural setting, you may experience the occasional rooster, as well as harmless geckos. Geckos are friendly, eat insects, and are considered good luck in Hawaii. Please don’t kill them. Although the HOA schedules regular professional pest control services, pests such as ants, roaches and rodents simply cannot be completely controlled in the tropics. Maui is in a tropical climate. If our guest spot more than the normal expected pests, we always make our best efforts to contact and work with the HOA to minimize your interactions with these pests. Any contact with such pests within or outside the unit does not constitute a breach of this Agreement or give Guest any right to any refund or rental adjustment.

We loved this condo

We had a most comfortable stay. Everything was as described, including the view. I loved being able to see the ocean from our condo! The bed was super comfortable. We used the beach chairs, which are light to carry on your back. The walk to Kapalua Bay is only .6 miles. (Take the shortcut through the Montage property.) The condo was quiet. Thank you for this! We would love to book this unit again. Maui Paradise Properties communicated beautifully throughout our reservation process and throughout our stay. Highly recommend!

Relaxing week in paradise

Kapalua is one of the most beautiful places we’ve ever been. The condo was the perfect size for a family of 3 and the view from the patio is amazing! We enjoyed snorkeling at Kapalua Bay. We also enjoyed hiking everyday, as well as kayaking and just chilling at the pool. We are not foodies so didn’t eat out much, but that’s why we loved having a kitchen. We will definitely be back.

Annual Maui Get Away

The condo was spacious and well equipped. Very comfortable. The carpets throughout are getting tired and there is staining despite the obvious efforts to keep them clean. The AC was preset at a temperature higher than what we would have liked for sleeping. This was not disclosed prior to our completing the booking. The AC failed and the prop mgmt co were less than professional. Once they realized that it could not be fixed they tried to ignore our requests for updates. You had to repeatedly call them and get angry with them to get any response. They had no contingency plans for this problem. They did not have a portable AC unit to install to keep things liveable for our last night. At 3am the bedroom area was 80 F. Despite doors and windows being open. As this is a loft unit the heat just rises. Downstairs was a bit cooler but still 76 F at 3am. To hot to sleep. They did not have another unit to move us to and declined to offer a hotel for the night. They just took the position Too Bad Sorry About This. They did admit that they have no contingency plans. They state they would refund us for one night which we have not seen any evidence of this actually happening so far. They also did not tell us in advance that the pool was closed for repairs. They were good about sending information before we arrived for access etc. Would we rent if this Prop Company was involved in the future. NO

January Get-away

We were escaping weeks of rain and cold in California. went from averge temp of 36 degrees and rain to 77 degrees and clear. The unit looks out over the first hole of the Kapalua Golf Course with a great view of the incredibily kept golf course and the ocean in the distance. Sunsets are right in your wheel house sitting in the deck. Less than 10 minute walk to the beach, 10 - 15 minute walk to the Gazebo restaurant. whales were visible everday in Naplili Bay. The unit itself a little dated but clean. Bedroom is upstairs and doses not close off but the unit overall was very quiet.

Super peaceful

This is the second time we’ve stayed at Kapalua Golf Villas, both times using the same property management company, Maui Paradise Properties. Have had a great stay both times. Pros: Unit is clean, pretty well stocked, and spacious. Excellent They text/email communication leading up to arrival. Loved 1.5 baths. It’s a top floor unit on the end of the building, so very quiet. Grateful for the beach chairs/towels and the large lanai. Beautiful unit, well furnished. Cons/considerations: This unit has a loft upstairs bedroom, so if you’re having more than 2 people be mindful that there is less privacy/more noise transfer than with a one bedroom. Being Hawaii, there are some tiny little ants that were present in both bathrooms and kitchens. There was a washer/dryer, but we couldn’t find detergent so used our own. Also the AC has a lower limit (68 degrees I think?) and we were far too hot at night upstairs with how heat rises. We did not contact the rental company about any of these issues, but I assume they could have been resolved!

Fabulous location and weather for the trip. Great snorkeling and beaches nearby with clear as glass water. Lot’s of turtles and fish. Only problem was constant drips from ceiling air conditioning. They were not able to fix during our stay.

Loved the property. End of drive way with private parking. Location came with fully stocked kitchen ac washer dryer. All the amenities to keep the wife and kids happy. The starter kit they set you up with is the best I’ve seen in any rental. Would most definitely rebook again.

Long delayed trip to Maui

My wife and I finally ventured to Maui, 21 months after first booking the trip. Due to Covid and other schedule issues we were finally able to complete our trip. While the location of the condo, views from the Lanai, and the check in procedure and response as to questions prior to trip was very good, the condo itself is a bit dated. It could use a fresh update; the kitchen seemed to have been updated but the carpet and furniture was dated and looked tired. The major issue for us during our stay was the AC unit that had a mind of it's own. We had a temperature range of 64 degrees with blankets on to 83 degrees and fans running constantly during our stay. The management team did come out almost daily to try and fix the situation with no luck, so a service tech didn't finally arrive until two days before departure and "fixed" the issue, which in all reality didn't fix it. After a few conversations with the property manager, who was very apologetic we were offered a partial per night refund for the inconvenience, which we did appreciate. If the owners were to freshen up the carpet, paint and furniture and make sure the AC unit is working properly we would have given the place a strong 4 stars. Based upon the property manager willingness to try and fix the unit and then offering a partial refund we give it a weak 3 stars. I would give the property management team another chance should we venture to Maui again soon though.

Fairway Paradise!

We loved relaxing on the large lanai overlooking the 4th fairway of the Kapalua Bay Golf Course! The condo was very spacious and well-furnished and well-supplied. It is a short walk to the beach and to the beautiful Kapalua Coastal Trail, which gives you easy access to several 5-star resorts. We will definitely be back!

Sweltering in Maui

When we walked into the property we were hit with a flash of hot air. We saw that there were 2 fans on in the living room. As we have stayed at the property numerous times before we knew where the AC control was - Upstairs. After getting upstairs we heard a loud noise as there was a portable AC unit running. The AC was not working - The AC had broken down. We called the property managers and asked what was up? Yes , they said the AC was not working. I don't know when the AC had broken down as the property managers wouldn't tell me - 1 week, 2weeks? We were not notified of the issue before we arrived. They did not disclose this to us. We could have made a decision on what to do if they would have notified us as Maui was booked out. The downstairs never cooled down and the portable AC unit upstairs was noisy and inefficient. We will not stay at this property or work with this management group again.

Nice property

My wife and I spent 3 weeks at this property. It was perfect for the two of us. We enjoyed the walking trails, golf and quiet Kapalua area. We do think the property is very nice. We enjoyed the new appliances and having a washer/dryer unit to use. But as vacation home owners ourselves we would urge the owners / management to consider the following. There are limited condiments/spices for your guests. We also were surprised we had to buy laundry detergent, trash bags and extra TP. Given our length of stay we could not use everything we purchased and left the remaining for the next guests or your cleaners. Given this expense, it would be a nice touch to include these for your guests in the future. The upstairs shower controls need to be repaired / replaced and the main floor carpet is showing it's age. On a positive note, property management accommodated our request for a replacement patio umbrella to help provide some shade in the afternoons. The stand was there with no umbrella when we arrived. He also purchased and replaced the aging patio chairs without us saying anything. We are not trying to deter anyone from staying here. It's a great property and will definitely consider it again when we are back in Maui. Thank you!
