It is a second floor unit. We have completed major remodeling with a new kitchen, new bathrooms, flooring and new furniture including a flat screen smart television and king size bed. Climate change has resulted in some uncomfortably warm weather. In response, we have added bedroom air conditioning. We chose this property over other available ones on the basis of the view, its location, and the grounds. It is on the second floor of Lae Nani's only two story building. It is located midway between Hanalei and Poipu and approximately 10 minutes North of the airport and several miles South of Kapa'a town. The beach is adjacent the property (all Hawaii beaches are public and we are not allowed to call it our beach). This provides good swimming and snorkeling and there is a lava encircled water area that is ideal for young swimmers. Numerous other beaches with more wave action are nearby providing for excellent surfing and boogie boarding. We are walking distance to many excellent restaurants not to mention a very good bakery/coffee shop. Next door is the Lava Lava Beach club which is an ocean side restaurant and cocktail area with live Hawaian music. We are very close to the newly remodeled Coconut Market Place with several casual restaurants, a shave ice stand and the Country Market Store that is well stocked with sundries, beach accessories, alcoholic beverages, a delicatessen, coffee, ice cream etc. There many other stores that sell clothing, souvenirs, etc and several shops that rent swim gear and bicycles. In other words, other than for groceries, one would never have to get in their car. We are so lucky to be located on a North South bike/multi use path, that presently extends 7 miles, most of it along the beach. My husband and I stayed here for a week on a Babymoon, it was our first stay in Kauai. We could not have been more pleased with the accommodations or the location on the island, it had a little of everything. There is a great restaurant on the beach very close in walking distance as well as a shopping center with restaurants within walking distance. When you’re ready for some island exploring there is a lot that doesn’t require a long drive. We loved the balcony with the view! This is our third stay in the Lae Nani complex. The complex itself has gorgeous landscaping and the beach is wonderful. Path along the coast is a pleasant walk. Sunset view from this unit overlooking the pool (the pool was quiet most evenings). This unit is well equipped (noodles, towels, etc), very clean, and has updated furniture. The bedroom has a small portable AC unit, which we didn't need to use... ocean breezes keep the unit at a nice temp. Location offers easy access to/from airport and to either south or north island. Owner contacted us directly via email with simple check-in instructions and codes. Very smooth rental process. Laundry onsite was clean and very inexpensive (1.50/load). ##### Ronda D. This was our second visit and we were just as thrilled as before. Everything was clean, comfortable, and just lovely, start to finish. We loved our morning coffee on the lanai and early morning sunrise walks. Time at the cove was so relaxing and special. Our kids have insisted that if/when we return, we only stay here. The condominium property is beautiful with a great pool and nice beach. The location is near several restaurants and Safeway. The unit is nicely decorated and well furnished. We could have used more towels since laundry isn’t in unit, and some of the pans were a bit rough. The awful part of our stay was the endangered wedge tailed shearwater bird that nests behind the unit. You have to Google its sound to hear how horrible their cries are. These birds are nocturnal and started screaming non stop every night around 2:30am and didn’t stop until morning when the many roosters started their wake up call. It was unbelievable! Additionally, the windows are louvered so there’s no way to keep the sound out. The other problem with the condo is no AC except for a very loud portable unit in the bedroom. It did get very hot especially in the main living area which made evening TV watching uncomfortable. The ceiling fans were helpful but some of our days the temp was in the mid 80s so it was impossible to get it cooled down. This condo would probably be fine during cooler months and when those stupid birds aren’t nesting! ##### Renee L.
