"Misrepresented, photos look WAY better advertised than it actually is, lighting is either stripped out or that was photoshopped. The pathway about took us out a few times with it being pitch black, even after telling the hosts they were not functioning. The photos are clearly outdated as there isn’t even a lake in the back area let alone any type of fountain. Granted, the dome has some good parts but overall we do not recommend if you are looking for a glamping type stay, especially in cooler...

Wilderness at the Smokies – River Lodge Suites

8/10 Good

"Great for kids"

Compass Hotel by Margaritaville

8/10 Good

"The room was awesome - clean, well stocked (water, fridge, coffee). It was also a decent size with sufficient storage and the balcony was really nice in the evenings to watch the sun set over the mountains (in the distance as Gorilla Taco is directly in front of the hotel). However there were some issues - I woke up in the middle of the night the first night to the smell of gasoline. Not sure where it came from and it didn't appear again after that... totally weird. There was plenty of parking and the parking lot is well lit. Plenty of luggage carts as well. The biggest issue we had was the breakfast - they state that it's a "really good breakfast" however, it was the same everyday we were there - powdered eggs, burnt bacon, sausage, pastries, etc. It really was NO DIFFERENT from any other hotel that offers "free breakfast". We even went out for breakfast one day so that we didn't have to eat it AGAIN. And the worst part for me was the coffee - it was so watered down that you couldn't tase the actual coffee, especially if you added creamer (which they only had whole milk or half and half... YUCK). Only had whole milk for cereal as well - no 2% or 1% or skim... who wants to chew their milk???? The pool was cool looking but we didn't get a chance to use it. We did use the hot tub one night and had it to ourselves which was nice but it could have been cleaner too... lots of sediment on the bottom of it. We didn't try the restaurant ($$$$) but the rest of the hotel was nice"

"We had a good stay. The property is beautiful very nice fireplace. The beds were very comfortable. The only problem was the breakfast we were there four nights and every morning exactly the same thing . Biscuits and gravy both bad, eggs and sausage patties bad as well also some flavorless weird dark fruit compote. the only thing that was decent was the waffle maker and your standard bread and cereal that you cannot mess up . I have not aencountered a breakfast set up this bad in a long time. Management please do better you have a beautiful property.. so disappointing!"
