Located next to the Waipio Lookout, our Hamakua Coast rain forest property is the perfect place to recharge and rejuvenate. Hear the rush of our waterfall and enjoy our private oasis. We’re a ten minute drive to Historical Honoka’a Town with restaurants, movie theater, grocery stores, shopping, art galleries, post office and hospital. Horseback riding, hiking, ATV rentals are close by. Our "Banana Belt" climate is perfect! This is a spacious, high ceiling one bedroom retreat located on the second floor with a private entrance. There is a full kitchen, including refrigerator, oven, stove and microwave; dishes, silver-ware and coffee maker. There is a newly installed 40" Internet TV! It is fully furnished and cozy with a king sized bed and large couch for putting your feet up and resting. There is also a private balcony with tree top views. Running through the middle of the property is a peaceful year round stream, molded with spiritual sized rocks and surrounded by rain forest. The stream cascades over small waterfalls among the rocks, and terminates in a dramatic 50 foot water fall. Put your feet in the water, play with the craw fish, or layout on the rocks in the sun. Listen to the rushing sound of the river, enjoy a book by the stream or explore the magical gardens that weave in and out of the gulch. Our sunny climate is tempered by the trade winds. There is a constant breeze keeping temperatures cool, comfortable and perfect. We're a five minute walk to the Waipio Valley Lookout. Take in the majestic high valley cliffs and ocean views. Watch whales breaching with views to Maui. Guests have access to the magic gardens, the front yard garden in front of the log cabin primary residence, the gulch and to views of the waterfall. There is an occupied downstairs unit that you do not have access to. The log cabin primary residence is not available at this time. When our schedules permit we enjoy meeting with our guests to go over house rules, and to orient our guests on the property. We appreciate that guests keep us apprised of their plans for arrival, and to let us know when they're checking out. We encourage our guests to use the guidebook in our AirBnB listing but are more than happy to check-in and make recommendations. We want our guests to reach out via the Airbnb chat application or to call if they need anything or to let us know if something in their rental unit is not working. The quaint Village was once a Sugar Care area where families lived, loved and harvested the cane. Some of those family still live there today. Transportation is either by your wonderful feet or car! Wear comfortable shoes! This is a second floor unit. You have private stairs to a private entrance. There is parking on the property for one car for the apartment. No parties or large or loud gatherings after 10:00 PM. No overnight guests. Visitors to leave by 11:00 PM. This is an apartment for up to two people. It is not a party location. Use of the shared BBQ area is for guests staying two nights or longer. Use of the laundry is for guests staying two nights or longer. Laundry hours are from 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM. No additional guests allowed. Additional guests must be approved in writing by the host. There is a $40 per night charge for an added guest. There is only one parking spot for the unit. Additional vehicles must be parked on the road off the property. No overnight guests. No illegal activities. No illicit drug use. We were very impressed with the grounds, which is literally a lovely jungle botanical garden. Just within steps of the house is a small stream and waterfall, surrounded by beautiful tropical plants. The unit itself was exceptionally clean, comfortable, and well maintained, with all the amenities you can think of. Locally, the dining options are fairly limited, because the nearby town, (Honokaha), is very small. But, there's a large grocery store, if you want to pick up some items as you pass through town. There is an adequate assortment of shops in Honokaha to keep you busy for a day of browsing, but if you start craving a bigger city, Waimea is 20 miles away.
