"This is a great resort for families with kids up to about 6 years old. The facilities cater amazingly to thaat age group. For older kids the pool is very good and the games room is also good, but the kids program for 7-9 year olds is only ok. Breakfast buffet is fantastic, with great choices. The appartment we stayed in was a very good size with plenty of space. It is about 15-20 minute walk to the beach, which for us was fine. You can rent bikes for a good proce if you want to explore...

Frühstück so lala. Viele Produkte jedoch sahen alle nach Aldi aus. Im Hotel Komoran...

"The room was old and smelled of old carpet and drapes. There were silverfish bugs crawling on the drapes. The bed mattresses were rock hard and uncomfortable. The room was not up to any standard fire code as several door needed a physical metal key to enter with locking doors. Outside the hotel an outdoor nightclub played music at an extremely high volume till 2 am making it impossible to sleep! Avoid this mess at all costs! "

"We stayed one night at the Hotel Pommernland having flown in to the nearby Anklam airfield. As it was the Ascention weekend there were no taxis available so the hotel manager Eric kindly gave us a lift into town to a greek restaurant. Hotel was clean and tidy and the rooms were absolutely fine. My only criticism is that there was only 1 feather pillow supplied which was way too soft, my head sunk straight through it. Breakfast was OK."

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Hohendorf?
The best area to stay in Hohendorf is the village centre itself, particularly around the main street, Dorfstraße.

This charming area is the heart of Hohendorf, offering a peaceful and authentic experience. You'll find traditional architecture, local guesthouses, and a few small shops. The village church is a top landmark, and the surrounding fields and forests provide a lovely backdrop for walks.

Couples seeking a quiet retreat will find the village centre ideal. It's great for relaxing, enjoying the local pace of life, and taking scenic strolls through the countryside. The nearby Baltic Sea coast is easily accessible for day trips, offering beautiful beaches and coastal paths.

For those travelling with families, staying a little outside the immediate village centre, perhaps in one of the guesthouses or holiday homes located amongst the fields, offers more space and privacy. These accommodations often come with gardens, providing room for children to play, while still being a short walk or drive from the village amenities.
When is the best time to go to Hohendorf?
The best times to go to Hohendorf are during the spring (April to May) and autumn (September to October) months, when the weather is pleasant and the natural surroundings are at their most appealing.

During spring, the countryside around Hohendorf comes alive with blooming flowers and fresh greenery, making it ideal for outdoor activities like hiking and cycling. The temperatures are mild, typically ranging from 10°C to 20°C, great for exploring the local trails or enjoying a leisurely stroll through the village. You'll find fewer crowds compared to the peak summer season, allowing for a more relaxed experience.

Autumn offers equally agreeable weather, with temperatures between 8°C and 18°C, and the landscape transforms with stunning autumnal colours. This season is particularly good for those interested in local produce and harvest festivals, which often take place in the surrounding region.
