"Wonderful stay in a traditional machiya. Stayed in Samurai room with terrace which was perfect to relax in after long day. Our highlight was omakase dinner with the best sushi we've ever had! Western style breakfast was delicious and not too heavy. Took chef’s advice to take evening walk to see Miyajima at night and it was perfect to see the torii gate and shrine at night without the crowds. Only problem area is check in- we left bags, ca me back at 3, room not ready, told to wait , they forgot us do in end went up to reception again and they had the key ready but not told us. Always lots of people sitting waiting to check in and it seems two people on each terminal…and they struggle to sort stuff on the system… our breakfast booking had to be queried…. Why is this ( and other members of the group) the only one where we seem to always wait ages at...
