The MAUNA LOA SHORES is right on the ocean in HILO; an exceptional town with plenty to do here on the east side of our beautiful island. The Beach Park next door where you can swim with sea turtles is a once in a life experience. My 45 years as a resident and 42 years as a Realtor here will insure you know where to go and what to do to make it the perfect stay.

Beautifully decorated and furnished, Finest in the Mauna Loa Shores..Best view of the Carlsmith Beach Park next door. Your bed overlooks the waves. The ultimate place for your Hilo stay. Mauna Loa Shores is ECO friendly solar powered electric!!!! You will absolutely love the condo, the amenities, the views, our Hilo town. Our piece of paradise awaits your stay. 1brm 1bth with queen size bed in brm. Full Kitchen, wifi, this condo has it all. EVEN smart TV with Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, etc. BUT the ultimate feature is Carlsmith Beach Park right next door is the best for swimming and snorkeling. Almost always sea turtles. EZ access to ocean, protected reef. Beautiful lawn with huge trees, Tide pools. Truly one of the finer spots on any of the Islands.

Hilo Town is a very special place. Not touristy like Honolulu, Maui and such, a real old Hawaii charm. Right now lava is flowing into the ocean, a sight to behold. Lava tours can be had. You will come back again and again.

We are ready to have you share in our Paradise. YOU will enjoy as the owners Karl and Susan have and they have been all over the world. Come see what we mean.

Starting Jan 1, 2022 our County has added an additional 3% tax due to the rising costs associated with keeping our County functioning properly.  As you know, this has been a stressful fee year for our County due to the lost revenue from the Volcano and now the Pandemic, so our County needs this to survive and provide needed services.  Our contract states that the tax is based in the taxes when your visit actually comes, so if you are arriving after Jan 1,  We are adding this additional 3% on your rent.  Mahalo for your understanding.

Condo modeste mais très propre et tranquille . Mauna Loa Shore est situé dans un endroit fabuleux

Nous avons beaucoup aimé . La proximité du parc Carl Smith avec son lagon et ses récifs est spectaculaire.. La vue du balcon et de la chambre à coucher est sublime. Dormir au son des vagues et sous un ciel étoilé est tout simplement merveilleux. Condo bien équipé, nous n'avons manqué de rien Condo bien situé près des parcs de plage et loin du bruit de la ville de Hilo Parfait pour les destination de la côte est de Big Island

We had an amazing stay at this condo. It was very clean and well organized, with everything we might need to make our stay comfortable. The view was absolutely fantastic. We enjoyed the easy walk to the lagoon to snorkel, and enjoyed stopping to admire the beautiful flowers. The hosts were very nice and very quick with communication. We hope to be back someday!

This was our 4th stay at the Mauna Loa Shores. The direct access to the shore with the Carlsmith Beach Park is one of the most appreciated amenities of this location. The apartments are fully equipped and very professionell and friendly managed by Terry. The transfer from the airport takes only a 10 minutes ride, all kind of shopping and a few restaurants are within a 5 min drive. Many attractions of Big Island are easy to reach within a one hour drive. We will return for shore.

Location was awesome a bit loud road weise during the day but nice and quiet at night. Residents are welcoming to us renters. Snorkel bay right outside back gate very convenient. Location is the right mix of vacationers and localsOver all I would stay again.

Perfect place for us!!! We could walk right down to beautiful carlsmith beach for swimming and snorkeling, short drive to Richardson bay for black sand beach , swimming & snorkeling. Everything is close by, great museums in Hilo. Beautiful place to stay with everything we needed, even chairs to take to the beach. The floors are beautiful. Great communication with the host. We would have loved to stay longer.

We recently stayed in Mauna Loa Shores for 4 nights. The condo was clean and nicely furnished with basic kitchen amenities. Our unit also provided beach chairs, beach towels, boogie boards, and a selection of snorkel equipment. The location is excellent as it is situated right next to Carlsmith Beach Park. It has a beautiful balcony view of the beach park and nature area directly behind the condos. In addition, there is a very good restaurant, The Seaside Restaurant, within a short walk. Assigned parking spaces are provided. The pool area is nice. The condo is located several miles from downtown Hilo which we liked since downtown Hilo seemed pretty congested most of the time. We would definitely stay at Mauna Loa Shores again.

First Trip to Hilo

Location was fantastic. Beach was so beautiful and we loved being able to fall asleep to the sound of the waves. Easy drive into downtown Hilo. Property itself was as advertised and had everything we needed. The building is a bit run down, but the actual unit was nicely done. Property manager was very responsive.

We have very little to say about the apartment we originally booked—except that we had bugs in the apartment because someone forgot to close the balcony door. A quick message to the agency, and we were able to switch apartments within 15 minutes. Thanks again to Amber and Therry—you deserve 10 stars, not just five.

Great Place

Very nice condo and location is great. You can walk out the back and you are at Carl Smith beach park. Condo looks exactly like pictures. Host provided lots of information about places to eat and visit.

Great location near beautiful Hilo

The condo was very clean, quiet, and well stocked with everything we needed for a great stay. The location was perfect--next to beautiful Carlsmith Beach Park and an easy drive to downtown Hilo, groceries, shopping, and Volcano National Park. We appreciated the elevator to the condo and our assigned free parking spot when we returned from sightseeing each day. We enjoyed a beautiful, sunny week visiting the Hilo Farmers Market, the Tsunami Museum, the Lyman House and Museum, and eating at the best restaurants on the big island. Can't wait to return!

Why not Enjoy Beautiful views while visiting Hilo

We enjoyed looking out at the lagoon and ocean from the lanai and bedroom windows all times of the day. We felt at home and even pampered. Thanks for the wonderful hospitality. We would enjoy staying here again if we return to Hilo.

Excellent location--enjoy snorkeling and the turtles 5 minute or less from your door

We had stayed in this building before and loved its convenience to Carlsmith beach park. This unit is small, but charming and perfect for our short stay. It was very clean and had everything we needed. We even cooked a couple of meals while we were here.If you want to see the turtles and have some sheltered snorkeling at Carlsmith Beach, this is the place.
