"The steps to the both lofts are treacherous for any person other than a young agile adult. The steps up to the hard futon mattress are tall, narrow steps and I had to crawl up and down them and unfortunately the first night I missed the bottom step and have quite the shiner on my hip. The metal ladder has round rungs and you would need shoe on the navigate them. "
