The room was a little cramped but the shared cozy space including deck with fantastic views helped! Breakfast was delicious and the location while up a steep hill, was a welcome quiet change from the busy crowded town. The only thing to keep in mind is that it is that there is a steep walk to the hotel from the train station and if you have heavy luggage, then it takes some cardio strength to carry it to the hotel. But once to reach there, it is worth it. The hotel is located on top of a hill without direct car access. Need to park and then hike 30 degree uphill for 5 minutes to reach the door. One of the heater missing control knob but fixed the following day. There are sharp edge at bed and easy to get hurt in this tight room. The toilet bowl is right next to the shower drain pan that the corner of the drain pan make it uncomfortable to sit down. It is hard to describe though. The breakfast staff is nice and friendly. Our room in the chalet building was gorgeous with an incredible balcony and view of Grindelwald and the alps! The hotel is just up the hill from the train station which makes the walk up worth it to get a view better than any hotel in the valley! Breakfast was excellent with fresh bread and pastries baked right there in Grindelwald! The staff were lovely and George even coordinated a bottle of Champagne in our room to celebrate my wife’s birthday.
