« We were a party of 10, getting together to celebrate the 60th birthday party of 2 family members. The house was beautiful, plenty of room for everyone, although to be honest we spend most of our time in the cosy but large kitchen and adjacent games room. Many period features allowed you to really experience how they used to love. Kirby Stephen high street was a stones throw away, making it convenient for local shops and pubs. Would highly recommend for a large family get together »

« Super space. Comfortable accommodations. Lovely back garden with a red squirrel visitor and lots of bird song. Great walks from the door with neighbouring Kirkby Stephen easily accessed by foot path or car for shopping. Ample parking space that is easy to access. Quiet. We very much enjoyed our stay »

« We spent two magnificent weeks in the Dunkeld Cottage. The house is so lovely and very comfortable. All the household appliances are in the cottage (washing machine; dishwasher..) We liked very much the style. The cottage is located in the Lake District (very nice region) and less than two hours , you can reach Liverpool Manchester Newcastle the Scotland and the fabulous Hadrian's wall Nous avons passé deux semaines magnifiques à Dunkeld Cottage dans une maison typique et très confortable....

« It is a great property in a lovely rural location, yet only a mile or so from Alston. Furnished to a high standard the cottage had all you could need for a comfortable stay (even though we picked a very wet 2-3 days). We enjoyed our all-to-brief stay, and look forward to returning, hopefully when the weather is better and we can enjoy the outside patio area with it's wonderful views. »

« It's a very nice looking hotel that just needs a little more attention to detail. I reported missing items from oyr room, but they weren't replaced. I had a window that wouldn't close, but received no help or offer to change room. My room door had a gap that you could pass 4 credit cards through, but again no response despite the security risk. Otherwise, a lovely stay. »

« We stayed for 3 nights and wished it could have been more. The hotel is in very good shape. Everything has been well thought out and the decor works seamlessly from reception to lounge, conservatory. Restaurant, corridors , landings and bedroom. Spotlessly clean, fresh towels and bedding. Lovely bathroom, plenty of hot water. Staff very friendly, pleasant and efficient. Food was excellent each breakfast and evening meal. The external seating areas worked well with well laid out patio and garden....
