We particularly loved the effort Carol has put into helping guests get out and explore the stunning local area with even small laminated cards with walking suggestions! « We found Riverside Lodge delightful, inside and out. Very peaceful and a pretty setting, with constant birdsong, visiting ducks, scampering squirrels, wandering deer and an evening flyby from a kingfisher. We went out less than we normally would because it was a treat to be lazy there, especially as we’d splashed out on the hot tub. « We booked this property in Fordingbridge since it was a reasonably short drive from Southampton (prior to our cruise). The plan was to spend 3 days in SW England (Bath, Stonehenge, etc.) and take in the charm of a small village. « We had a lovely stay at the three lions. The staff were all amazing and left us a card and some chocolates for our anniversary, which was really sweet. The hot tub was warm and ready for us when we arrived. The only downside to this was there was no cover or canopy, and it was raining all evening so we didn’t get to enjoy this as much as possible.
