Sam was a fantastic host, breakfast was delicious and the room outstanding. Absolutely highly recommend.

Lovely out of the way spot. Stayed 1 night en-route to the north. Beds very comfy.

Amazing little place, definitely worth the stop :) Room was comfy in a cozy little town

Claire was very welcoming. The room was spacious and clean with a view of the beautiful garden. She did a typical English breakfast which was delicious with fresh fruit and other goodies. I would recommend.

The hotel grounds were lovely. The “deluxe suite” we’d booked had some worrisome issues. If you’re a guest anywhere near 6’ tall you run the risk of cracking your head (and drawing blood) on the sharp wooden beams like my spouse did. The towel rack in the bathroom (that also had a low wooden ceiling beam) was scalding hot with no shut off lever. Our safety concerns were relayed to the staff and although they said they’d investigate it didn’t seem like much of a surprise. The breakfast though...

Absolutely lovely hotel. The staff were all so accommodating. Beautiful rooms and comfortable beds. My only suggestion would be for the hotel to look into portable air conditioners for the rooms. The first half of my stay had abnormally hot weather and a portable air conditioner for the room would have made sleeping a bit more comfortable at night. Other than that, a lovely stay, stunning patio and excellent food

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Our room was spacious and well equipped. A very nice property in beautiful countryside.

The meals were presented with flair, the whiskey golden syrup porridge was wonderful. the cook english, all we hoped for. The waiters very friendly and the room warm and comfortable. It made our holiday perfect

Beautiful property, excellent staff!

The Talbot Hotel is a very quaint hotel. It’s location in Oundle is ideal and central. The courtyard is a great place to soak up the sun with a cold beverage. Dorotha and Aaron were a pleasure to deal with, as were all staff. Enjoyed our stay and highly recommend this location.

Beautiful little property. Service was amazing, breakfast was delicious. Only disappointed in the pub being closed on a Monday, but other than that it was a perfect place!

We had a very pleasant stay at the White Lion for the 2016 Burghley Horse Trials. It is a quaint country inn located in a quiet village, with friendly staff and good food. Word of caution - although the inn's profile on Expedia correctly states that it is in the village of Whissendine, our email confirmation from Expedia incorrectly placed it in the nearby town of Oakham.
