While our cabin was clean and cosy unoccupied cabins appeared untidy. The main dining and bar area was always very clean and warm, and manned by very welcoming and helpful staff.
Simple rooms, but comfortable for a night. Hotel staff were great and the restaurant has a great food selection and lovely open fires to sit by in winter.
The owner was very friendly and helpful, as were all the staff. Would have liked a microwave in the cabin but it’s not a deal breaker. The gas log fire in the cabin was lit which made for a warm and cozy welcome when we checked in. The bed and bedding were nice, warm and comfortable. As it gets pretty cold there, electric blankets might be a nice touch, that way you don’t need to leave the gas heater on most of the night. All in all, we had a lovely time.
The cabin was very clean & bed comfy. This was our first stay in the wilderness, & it was so lovely. So quiet & peaceful. And we had a beautiful meal in the restaurant. We loved our stay here.

Admin we’re good. The shack itself was very basic. No microwave. Heating good. Bathroom stop class. Not impressed, expected much more finesse towards customer on “Shack”itself
This is a stunning location with good facilities. The unit was spacious, comfortable and well equipped. The restaurant was good but perhaps a little overpriced.
Comfortable and cosy cabins in a beautiful setting

Liked: Staff & service
Staff were good and wilderness setting magnificent. We booked the top level room available and paid accordingly but were very disappointed, no real fire place (gas), dated, basic and needs some work to match the price point. Okay if you’re a hiker needing a place to stay but not what you’d expect if you’re a couple on holiday touring Tasmania. Better elsewhere and can see why it wasn’t busy.
While some may consider it a bit pricey the lodge is an excellent location to stay at, in very close proximity to wilderness especially in winter. It has very warm sleeping quarters and living amenities and excellent food to enjoy.

Great stay with excellent dining options. Lake is beautiful in morning just down from chalet. Mo and other staff were very helpful.
Lovely quiet picturesque location. Loved being able to do fabulous walks without having to get in the car.
Having a restaurant, cafe on site that we could frequent added to our restful stay. Thankyou
