When you enter the front door, they use too, this is not private. When you can see them turning on lights upstairs, not private. I will say the host was no problem at all, this house just isn't able to have a PRIVATE area. There is no door to the basement, and that is where you will live. If you are ok with this, it is a great place and we had everything we needed.
