Welcome to Aspen Grove Lodge. This secluded 4 bedroom, 3 bath mountain home is a great place for relaxing with family and friends and taking in the amazing views of Pikes Peak. This remote home is situated on four wooded peaceful acres surrounded with Ponderosa Pines, and abundant wildlife. And yet it is just a scenic one hour drive from Colorado Springs, two hours from Denver, one and a half hours from Breckenridge. A short drive will take you to many of Colorado's most popular tourist attractions. There's plenty to see, and do, and even more opportunities to relax and enjoy the breathtaking views and take-in the wonders of nature.



Aspen Grove Lodge is perfect any time of the year. Enjoy hiking, fly fishing, rock climbing, off-roading and exploring the nearby Pike National Forest. A visit to Florissant Fossil Beds National Monument is definitely a memory you won’t forget! Take a drive in the Rocky Mountains or head to Cripple Creek, Woodland Park, Manitou Springs, or Old Colorado City for shopping, dining and gaming. Please know this is a beautiful, mountainous remote property and requires AWD in snowy weather.

Unfortunately this home didn't exceed our expectations. The layout was great for our large families and the outdoor setting in the mountains is beautiful, but the property is in major need of a serious refresh. The images online show the property in its best light, and must have been taken some time ago. The property was clean, but lacking in fairly common hospitality touches that make for a five star stay. We were there in the summer and needed to open the windows for the cool outside air, but there are no screens (and the master bedroom window is broken, so wouldn't stay open). The dishwasher is so terrible that it barely closes, and the guests before us must not have done it properly, because it was full of water when we got there and had to be run. The flooring in the kitchen is peeling up, the ceiling fans need a good dusting, and the outside deck needs to be re-stained. On a positive note, the master bed was extremely comfortable. We had a good stay, but not a great stay.

Amazing mountain views, cool mornings and pleasant afternoons away from the summer heat in the city. We loved sitting in the hot tub in the midst of green pine trees and aspens. Lovely.

The home and setting was beautiful. The location was perfect as well; close to Colorado Springs, Cripple Creek, and a number of other attractions. The downstairs set up was perfect for my son and his family with two young children. The kitchen was a very good size, wonderful as we prepared most of our meals "at home." The property managers were excellent to work with and very responsive to questions and concerns. They also left a full tank of propane at the front of the house for our stay! I would recommend this home 10/10 to anyone who is visiting this area of Colorado.

Great Stay

This is the second time staying at this property over the Holiday season. The property is great! Fits our family nicely - plenty of space! A few minor improvements recommended for the future:There was not a standard set of pots and pans with which to cook or bake. There were no hot pads/oven mitts.Internet was spotty at best - could barely send text messages to people in the house on the same WiFi No sponges to clean dishes or wipe counters. These are nice-to-haves and didn’t detract from the fun time we had and the memories we made. Thanks for sharing your property with us!

Great Cabin for a quick getaway

The stay was great! Clean linens, the hot tub was working great. Despite previous reviews we read, the hot tub was working and hot when we arrived. The host was very considerate and fair. Rules were pretty clear and fair. If you're looking for a get away this is a great place to stay! My only small complaint is the internet was a bit slow and lag from time to time. So if you're streaming music for example, it would lag. Besides that, the place is big and cozy! Basement was big!

In General, a good stay.

The view was spectacular. Hot tub was clean and worked great. The linens were clean, blankets fresh. No musty smell. The towels were fluffy and good size. There were no cobwebs in the corners or bugs in the window sill. Fridge, oven/stove, water-cooler, all worked fine with no issues. We didn’t use the internet service much, but it was always available whenever needed. The floors were clean, but the slats had some space between. Moved as you walked along, pinching toes occasionally when barefoot. It had snowed a day or two before we arrived, ~2 feet of snow. The front driveway was plowed, which was nice, but the back deck had a thin path going to the hot tub with no way to open or get in without stepping in the snow, no place to hang a towel while you were out there. We found some snow shovels and shoveled off the deck and moved a towel rack near the tub for use. The downstairs fireplace did not work. When reported we were informed that they might have forgotten to light the pilot. There were a few bulbs burned out when we first got there. The kitchen was stocked with basic needs: plates, bowls, glasses, utensils, pots and pans. The previous renter did not do a good job cleaning the dishes. The queen/king beds were memory foam and good condition. Comparable if not better than most hotels. Pillows for bed and sitting areas had no body nor support. Seating in the entire house was very uncomfortable. I opted to sit on the floor before any of the couches or chairs.

The house was great with plenty of space for our trip. It is definitely remote, so we did a lot of driving to/from activities. There is wifi, but it's not very strong. So, if you are looking to just relax and unplug in the woods with family and friends, this is an excellent spot!

Everything was as expected. Only complaint is that not all windows on main floor have window screens. The house does not have (nor does it need) air conditioning. But window screens are necessary for summer time stays. Outside of this minor complaint - everything was awesome.

Beautiful location and view. No so beautiful house.

While the setting of the house with the mountain views was amazing, the house itself was disappointing. The flooring was coming up in places causing us to trip at times, there were crumbs on the floor and in cabinets, there was a hair on a pillow causing us to wonder if the sheets had even been changed, the grill was all rusted and unusable as the igniter did not work, only two rooms had screens on the windows so when we needed to open windows to try to cool the house down, we would get bugs in the house, the windows themselves were falling apart, the lamp in the living room wouldn't turn on due to a broken switch, there were pans and dishes that were not washed very well, hand soap and dish soap were watered down so not as effective. All in all a little disappointing.

Beautiful home!

The house is huge and lovely, while it’s a bit out of the way that’s exactly what we were looking for. We did have a few problems with attention to detail. When you get to the property make sure to turn up the hot tub so you can use it in the first day. The grill wasn’t usable as the cover wasn’t put back on and it was rusted but we were able to manage with the oven, I’m sure they’ll fix the grill grates for the next guest. There are very little basics (salt and pepper but that’s about it) so make sure to bring your seasonings and foil/ parchment paper! Some minor parts of the home seemed to be missed on cleaning but nothing that turned us away. Remember you’re in the mountains, and the beautiful view is what you’re there for! Ellen from property management was very kind and understanding of our disappointments and made sure to correct them for us. The down stairs bed and bedroom floor is heated which was a lovely surprise! While there weren’t screens in all the rooms, they have the window fans you can put in to keep the place a little cooler. They do have some games and we enjoyed playing cards with our kids. Overall we were very happy with our stay, only giving a 4 star because of the missed details and grill disappointment . We would be happy to stay here again.

Perfect hidden gem!

We loved this place. It has a great view and only minutes from many things to explore. We had one small issue with the hot tub. I called the host and one hour later the hot tub doctor was there and fixed the issue. He drained and refilled it and it was perfect the rest of our stay. Great to sit in the hot tub at night with the lights all off. The stars were amazing at this altitude, with no light pollution. I can’t say enough good about this house, it was PERFECT! Rainbow almost every day we were there.

Beautiful home for getaway vacation!! Cleanliness is gibe 4 stars because i found hairs in candle basket on dining table next to kitchen when we walked in the house and sat down for coffee on Monday evening. Other than that perfect stay!!

Great views Mountain House

Had a lovely girls trip. Lots of room to spread out and also gather for games/convo. Kitchen was great for us cooking meals at the house. Had a small issue with some wildlife and was cleared up very quickly by the property management.

Caution!!! Numerous issues and terrible customer service

We had a negative experience with this home & property management. First, the hot tub had multiple issues impacting use. In sleep mode upon arrival and so low in water the jets were not submerged, it took so long to warm up that we were unable to use it the first evening. We communicated issues promptly on day 1, but the refill the next day & time to warm up again resulted in a very limited window for use. And there were many other issues not requiring urgent intervention from management: nails on kitchen furniture that damaged clothing, beds not matching description, many items left by previous guests – incl. razors accessible (in a low drawer) to our young children, and more. As requested, we reached out directly to share our overall dissatisfaction and non-urgent concerns – within 3 days of checkout. We believe there was a dramatic mismatch between what we were charged (a lot for 2 nights for 6 adults/5 kids) and our experience, particularly given hefty “host fees” far exceeding the advertised nightly rate for 2 days. Management responded by offering a refund for the “hot tub fee” but stated that additional concerns raised “appear[ed] to be afterthoughts” and left it at that. In addition, management implied that we were leveraging a public negative review for money back, which was not the case. We let them know we were honoring their request for private feedback first, but that we would share our overall experience, including customer service,in our public review.
