Spacious sunny cottage (airport close, family, pet friendly, disability access)

This warm, self contained cottage is bathed in morning sun and coffee on the deck is perfect. Built in 2017 this 116 sq meter cottage is well insulated with double glazing and a heat pump. Its 5 minutes to the airport and also on the bus route to a local mall, Canterbury University & the city. It was built for disability access and has ramps front and back an extra large shower to suit a shower chair if required. Dog friendly with conditions, definitely family & LGBTI+ friendly and kids are welcome. It is in a quiet position at the rear of our property which means we are close by to help out if needed.

Chris and Catherine are excellent hosts and look forward to you enjoying your stay with us. For short stay guests, breakfast and tea coffee, milk etc. will be provided. On street parking is available. The two bedrooms, 1 gueen and one with a king single and a single bed can sleep 4 people but let us know if you have additional requirements and we work with you to create a plan.

Had a too short stay at this lovely cottage. Furnishings were soft, fluffy and warm. Excellent supply of kitchen staples, far more than usual. Place was very clean, had big comfy beds. The hosts were very friendly and helpful.

Burnside Cottage

Very nice cottage in a great location. Lush beds provided a good night's sleep, lovely homely feel, well stocked pantry, went the extra mile to enquire what bread and milk we preferred. As a pet owner who was away from their dogs for 10 days, I loved that their pets were able to come and go if we wanted them too. Close to lots of food options. Would definitely recommend.

So very nice in every way.

The bach was behind the main house - so very private. Immaculate and comfortable. Provided us with bread, eggs, milk, tea, etc. and travel snacks. Small library. Very bright, cozy and comfortable. A wonderful stay. Highly recommended.

Relax and Enjoy

We really enjoyed your place, it had a lovely relaxed vibe. I sat in the 'egg' chair and read and when it got to hot I sat on the chairs outside the lounge. The fruit/vegetable garden is amazing and it's so thoughtful that you are willing to share its produce with your guests.

Fantastic accom handy to rverything

We were very comfortable in this accommodation. The host Catherine was super, very friendly and accommodating. We had a dog trailer and needed to park off street. Catherine moved things around especially so we could do that. We also loved the welcome basket of treats on our arrival. A very thoughtful and kind gesture. Would definitely stay again.

Sweet gem

We would highly recommend this place! The hosts are very friendly, and even dropped us off at a couple of places we were going to. Their wee dog is very sweet. The cottage is extremely comfortable and was well kitted out with all the essentials plus quite a few luxuries! It truly felt like a home away from home. And so quiet. We hope to be back before too long. Thank you!

Awesome stay!

My 2 teenagers and myself stayed at the property. Our hosts were super friendly, and our initial communication with them was efficient and fast. The property is clean, modern, tastefully furnished and has all the amenities one needs. The snack box and breakfast items was a welcome surprise. What made our stay extra special was the firepit our hosts laid our for us to toast some marshmallows on. I highly recommend this property and would love to stay there again if the need arise.

Splendid accommodation!

Having stayed at The Cottage in Christchurch for one night before leaving on our next day flight, my husband and I wished we had stayed there much longer during our NZ holiday. (We definitely will next time!)It was such a delight to have Chris come out to greet us on our arrival and Catherine popping in to welcome us when she arrived home. Wonderful, friendly, warm-hearted people who went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we could possibly need.This very private accommodation is perfect in every regard. It is beautifully presented, inside and out. The cleanliness, the furnishings, the comfort, the peace and quiet, the fresh bread and milk (of our choice), the snack supplies on the kitchen bench and the food in the pantry, the fruit and vegetable garden right outside with our wonderful hosts encouraging us to help ourselves to anything! (Delicious raspberries!)With their wide driveway, we had plenty of room to park our car close to The Cottage, making it very easy to transfer our luggage. Ramps also provide access for guests with disabilities.The Cottage is 20 mins drive from Christchurch CBD and a 10-minute drive to the airport. We cannot wait to return.
