Discovered thousands of years ago, but popularized during the Russian imperial period, the mineral waters of Borjomi became renowned for their healing qualities.

Russian figures such as Chekhov and Tchaikovsky visited Borjomi to relax in sanatoriums and drink the water.  During the Soviet period, bottled Borjomi water became one of the Soviet Union's chief exports.

If you travel to Borjomi, you can visit a central park and drink the warm water as it drips out of a spigot.  You travel to this area, descend some steps, and fill your cups or bottles with the water.

"Beautiful new hotel in Bakuriani. Clean large rooms, friendly and helpful staff (excellent English), easy location walkable to many restaurants and shops for snacks if needed. Very nice rooms with great views of the mountain (stayed in #503), parking included. Coffee and water in room was greatly appreciated. Location is a bit hard to find since it’s not on Google Maps yet, but the Google Plus Code (copy and paste into Google Maps) is: QG3H+VP Bakuriani, Georgia. "

"the hotel is conveniently located in a walkable area and well designed. the staff is friendly. we ordered the hotel specifically since it had a spa. however, it did not operate in our 2 day stay and we were not informed in advance or during our stay. only when we asked we were told that it's in renovation. we asked if there was any arrangement with another hotel so we can use their facilities as a courtesy. the front desk manager tried to help and updated that we can visit a neighbor hotel sap...

"STAY AWAY... It is just a house run by a women. They have no services what so ever. They don't even clean your villa. I had to request so many times to have my villa cleaned and they sent someone who did a very basic job without putting any toiliteries or towels. Linens were never changed and I stayed there for 5 nights. By the way, staff is also very grumpy. my advise is that choose a different property if you want your holiday to be enjoyable."

This glass and steel pergola sits over two spigots of the famous Borjomi natural spring water.

Discovered thousands of years ago, but popularized during the Russian imperial period, the mineral waters of Borjomi became renowned for their healing qualities.

Russian figures such as Chekhov and Tchaikovsky visited Borjomi to relax in sanatoriums and drink the water.  During the Soviet period, bottled Borjomi water became one of the Soviet Union's chief exports.

If you travel to Borjomi, you can visit a central park and drink the warm water as it drips out of a spigot.  You travel to this area, descend some steps, and fill your cups or bottles with the water.
