We are Near Downtown Blue Ridge, Toccoa River, Vineyards, Orchards, Breweries, Fish Hatcheries, Appalachian Trail, Stables, ATV park, Drive-IN Movies and the Train Depot and don’t forget the Big Foot adventure experience!! The main floor includes the living room with 2 very comfy reclining sofas! Our dining room (8 chairs +2 from bedroom). Fully equipped kitchen. The main bedroom which has a very private NEW DECK and a "Jacuzzi tub" for your enjoyment, comfy rocking chairs to chill on the deck and a “Dedicated work station” with room for 2. Two additional bedrooms, each also equipped with “King” beds and direct access to the Jack and Jill bathroom (one en suite). And then of course is the hang out area THE LOFT for the older children and teens to set base at. It has 1 King, 1 Queen and a Standard-twin size bed. A Smart television set for you to sign in to your favorite applications. Very comfortable accommodation for a total of "TEN" !!l We also have a PORTABLE CRIB with a thick mattress, a safety crate and a cute high chair for the littlest guest to be comfy and stay safe (kids plates, utensils and zippy cup). Don't miss the free summertime seasonal “Blue Grass” concerts and gatherings by Horse Shoe Park on the Toccoa River. And don't miss the Fanning County Park and Recreational Complex just in back of the hill by our property (it's great to ride bikes in, running, basketball, pickleball courts or a wonderful workout/walk/bile from our place. After all that exercise you deserve a break for coffee and fresh fried apple pie from Mercier's Apple Orchard or enjoy cool ice cream or hot chocolate. You can also splurge on a local bottle of wine from a nearby Vineyards or visit them for tasting and hear live music. Also, in the center of town is the Old Blue Ridge Railroad Depot which is listed on the National Registry of Historical Places. And at Lake Blue Ridge you can rent a pontoon or boat or just enjoy the view of the surrounding mountains. We have several excellent rivers and creeks in the North Georgia Mountains. The Toccoa River, also located in Fannin County is renowned for fly fishing. The waters of the Ocoee River, in Polk County Tennessee, offers exceptional kayaking and white water rafting. Oh, let me just mention that Blueridge has a drive-in movie theater 'The Swan' but just in case it rains there is a regular cinema in Ellijay. Also, if you like drag racing check the racetrack by Sugarcreek out (located across from Hwy.5). If you like horses you can visit one of the neighboring stables for the small and not so small and experienced and not so experienced riders. And the best Apple Doughnuts ever.....Visit Merciers Orchards for fresh apples, cheese, preserves, cider or wine tasting!! Explore one or more than one of our many Vineyards (Bear Paw is nearest and has free live music). Whether you decide to stay in and enjoy our quaint home, get in the creek, enjoy our creekside fire pit and make a picnic.You can hangout or swing on the porch, bbq, or go hike on our property (we are on 10 acres) trail we assure you and your family will enjoy your stay and as many of our past guests make this place one of your favs!! Oh, and did I mention the creek????? The little ones can dig and explore for gold and of course crayfish (catch and release) so do not forget the water boots and exploration tools. The rooms are well appointed, the house is quite large and spacious with wrap around deck, chairs, swing, BBQ. Kitchen is well stocked. Everything is very clean. We had good communication with the owner and yes, the house is pet-friendly. This is more than a cabin for sure. From the wrap-around deck the sound of the flowing water in the creek was very audible and enjoyable. Very peaceful location. Three king-size beds in the downstairs with two bathrooms made it so convenient. There is also a loft with three beds with a spiral staircase. This place is a little slice of heaven! It’s at the end of the road adjacent to a piece of property that has cows. It’s fun to watch them throughout the day. The creek is wonderful and inviting, it’s every bit the babbling brook you would want. The house itself is well equipped, super comfy and spacious enough for everyone to have their own space. I miss it so much that I’ve already booked a return trip for a longer period of time. And before I forget, best sleep ever!! And that says a lot coming from a chronic insomniac! For those who need to work while you are there, the internet was awesome and supported video meetings and screen shares. It had everything we could’ve needed and we felt right at home. We had so much fun exploring the creek and the property. Sitting on the porch in the evenings in the rocking chairs listening to the babbling creek and watching the fireflies dance was just the break we needed! The absolute ONLY thing we might suggest is labeling the light switches as it was confusing trying to figure out which switch went to what, LOL! But it’s definitely not a big deal and we’d LOVE to visit again. The cabin was so homey and welcoming, the property was beautiful, the drive in was easy, and there’s so much to do in the surrounding area. This place was PERFECT!! ##### Kara F. Very easy to get to, especially compared to some of the other properties we have stayed at near Blue Ridge/Cherry Log areas that have dirt roads with huge potholes. No climbing either. House is a very cool octagon shape inside, plus additions. Comfortable beds, updated appliances, nice layout with a loft for kids to hang out if you have them. Very relaxing stream and fire pit, also saw lots of deer, cows on the farm next door too. Our last night we saw a very rare full moon with a rainbow around it! Wonderful hosts too! ##### Chuck T. This property is absolutely beautiful. I can not speak more highly of the view and premises. The house is located right on the creek and waking up to that type of view and sound of the creek is dreamy. The proximity to town was ideal for small children, as they don’t ride well for long. The creek was our favorite part… getting to play and walk along the side was such fun! The house is large enough for one big family or a family and grandparents included. We search for King-size beds and there are THREE! The Master Bathroom is a bit tiny but the large jacuzzi tub makes up for it with young children. Two fire pits for smores! Wrap around porch and privacy deck off Master is amazing. The owner Maria was so kind and attentive. We will be returning next Fall! ##### Miranda B. You have the creek that is amazing to look at..get in..listen to it while sitting on the porch. Maria is great at responding to any questions we had. It's super close to Mercer Orchards...Starbucks..Walmart..downtown Blue Ridge. We had rented a minivan..I wouldn't recommend that as a vehicle of choice...getting out was always a little tricky. We would definitely stay again. My husband and I got up early every morning just to drink our coffee and sit on the porch listening to the creek and watching the cows come and go. You won't regret staying at this cabin. My dad and youngest ended up staying back one afternoon so my boy could play in the creek and my dad sat on the porch reading...it's so dang peaceful and perfect!! My husband and I stayed at Honey for the Bears with our six kids, ages 1-12\. Everyone absolutely loved it from the second we walked in. The kids played in the creek for hours every day, caught multiple crawfish and salamanders. Maria was very quick to reply to my many questions about the provisions of the house before we arrived. I was thrilled there was a highchair there for us and also a travel crib (which had a really nice mattress!). We used the large baby gate to block off the entrance to the porch and the baby could be outside without jumping in the creek, etc. All the beds were very comfortable and there was plenty of space for all of us to sleep. The loft was so fun but for the earlier bedtimes the closed off bedrooms were wonderful. The jack and jill bathroom was very convenient. One of my favorite aspects was the endless windows, doors and porches. We loved seeing the cows roam the property next door and we did some fun local hiking.
