  • Stepping Stone is the perfect location for your vacation. It is on a quiet, private road, close to everything Southwest Harbor has to offer. Take the 1/2 mile walk or drive to Seawall Beach or the local lobster pounds, hop in the car and continue on to the hiking trails and Bass Harbor lighthouse, or take the 5 minute drive to the town center for dinner and shopping.
    The home itself is spacious and sunny and consists of a master en suite with a queen bed and full bath with walk in shower, a second bedroom with two queens, and a hall bath with a tub/shower combination. You have use of one side of a two car attached garage to store your bikes and kayaks. You will also find coolers, beach chairs and lawn games for your enjoyment.
    Sit on the deck and relax to the sounds of the waves crashing on Seawall beach, or enjoy an evening fire and unwind from the day's adventures.

Excellent location—close to Acadia and Bar Harbor. This was such a comfortable house to go back to after full days in the Park. So clean, fully stocked kitchen, laundry machines, comfortable beds and living room, nice towels…We highly recommend this place!

House was perfect! Beautifully decorated, comfortable and cozy. Wildlife everywhere - deer, turkeys, birds and ducks! Great location on the quieter side of Mount Desert Island. Very convenient to Acadia and everything else we wanted to visit in the area. We highly recommend.

This is a lovely house on a very secluded, wooded road. Clean, warm, just as advertised. We loved it. Deer everywhere and close to ocean and hiking trails. The host, Amy, was immediately responsive to messages. Maine is beautiful - we will be back. Highly recommended.

SW Harbor House

Definitely quiet, safe, roomy house for us four adults. Very clean. Set in a beautiful peaceful place just a short walk to the ocean. I would definitely stay here again.

I stayed at Stepping Stone last year and decided to stay for two weeks this year. The house is in a quiet neighborhood with deer frequently visiting. It’s a very clean and comfortable home. The kitchen is very well equipped for cooking or there are local places to eat out. There is a fire pit conveniently located just off the deck for roasting marshmallows. I love the Southwest Harbor location and I would definitely stay at Amy’s home again!

Lovely Home

Quiet setting in the woods. Home is spacious with everything you need for cooking your own meals. Home is close to town and only 30 minutes to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. If we come back to this area we would book it again.

Wonderful!

This is such a peaceful place! The home is spotlessly clean and has absolutely everything you need. From soap and shampoos to a hairdryer and iron, even dish soap and laundry soap provided along with a well stocked kitchen- you won’t have to drag it all from home. The linens and towels are high quality and the beds are extremely comfortable. The neighborhood is quiet and peaceful. We loved it and would highly recommend! Thank you Amy!

We really enjoyed our week at Stepping Stone. The entire property was clean, comfortable and welcoming. The home is well appointed and maintained with care. The kitchen is roomy and equipped with everything needed for preparing meals and getting ready for your day. One of the highlights of our stay was the opportunity to meet our host Amy. We definitely recommend this property on the quiet side of Mt. Desert Island.

Enjoyed our stay! Loved having a fire pit and grill. Watched the sunrise the last morning at Seawall picnic area. Beautiful!! Close to Acadia too. Beds were comfy and kitchen is well equipped. Would stay here again!

Relaxing stay

Stepping Stones was a wonderful home very well equipped with everything you would need for your stay. Home was very clean. Location was not far out of SWH. Nice front porch to sit out in the late afternoon and fire pit was convenient. Lovely yard with deer walking by. We enjoyed our stay.
