Downtown Casa - SXSW central, close to it all, neighborhood feel

Stay within walking distance of the convention center, downtown and E 6th St., Rainey St., and town lake. Our home has the feel of neighborhood living (wonderful light, tall ceilings, comfy beds, big kitchen, cozy furniture, well lit porch sitting), yet the location of all the downtown, near eastside amenities. We welcome couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, and families (with kids).

Space
The space is 2 bedroom with 2 full bathrooms. All ceilings are vaulted with an open concept for the living, dining, and kitchen. The porch is well lit and great for night cap. The kitchen is fully equipped for family meal prep, but don't miss out on the neighborhood fare (Laundarette, Buffalina, Emmer and Rye, G'Raj Mahal). The space features central heat and air with laundry facilities. Grab a tagerine of off one of our many fruit trees. This home is over a 100 years old so it has its quirks, but we have done a great job in making it a wonderful place to live.

Neighborhood overview
With plenty of large trees and a walkable feel, there is so much to do. The lake is a 5 minute walk. E 6th and Rainey are 5 mins away. Downtown is 15 mins.

Getting around
There are bike rental stations all over town. Grab a bike at East Cycles for $30/day. While you are there, grab a coffee at Flat Track. It's some of the best coffee in town.

Other things to note
There are is a washer and dryer for use as you need. This Airbnb is registered and regulated by the City of Austin and State of Texas.

This property was PERFECT for 4 adults wanting a great weekend in Austin! Very clean, and the host was wonderful at communicating. The house was located minutes away from downtown where it was easy to UBER, along with renting scooters! We will 100% stay here on our next trip down!

Work trip.

Great location. Nice, cute, older home with comfortable bed. The road is heavily congested with parking, and a couple times it was an issue, but overall I was able to find somewhere to park, and I enjoyed my stay. I would definitely stay again.

Perfect stay...highly recommended!

Awesome house in an amazing location! Host was delightful to work with from the start...would highly recommend staying here if you're traveling to Austin. 10 min. walk to Rainey St. and even shorter walk to other cool restaurants on E. Cesar Chavez St. House was clean and was stocked with everything you'll need. Thanks again!

The host was pleasant and very easy to deal with. Great communication and provided clear instructions. Quiet neighborhood. Parking was always available on the street. Great location. Plenty of space. Would stay here again next time we are in Austin if it’s available.

This is a great little house, quintessentially Austin in a quiet neighborhood and conveniently located. The only negative is that the 2nd bed is not queen size. I can't imagine 2 adults sleeping there. One person had to sleep on the sofa.

One major problem

We arrived late at night, I thought I heard noises but didn't pay attention to it. In the morning we noticed that the home had a mouse trap behind the refrigerator. On our second day while we were waiting to get ready for dinner we had an unwanted visitor which was as large mouse. After a day out we went back to get ready for dinner when we had an unwanted visitor (a mouse). Besides the mouse one of the beds bedding had a hole in the sheet along with a hole in one of the towels and a light bulb was burnt in the bathroom. It was early fall but the front/side yard could have been cleaned especially knowing that you rented this property out. Was disappointed that this was our first time using HomeAway and it wasn't as I had heard from previous renters whom used HomeAway.

Excellent location for this cute, tidy home!

I was in town for a conference at the Convention Center (less than a mile away, which was a short bike ride), and this property was perfectly located for access to downtown and plenty of fun things to do in the evening. The house is well-maintained and the pictures perfectly display what you will find. I had my significant other and a friend staying here, as well, and we were pleasantly comfortable.

We enjoyed our stay here! The home was roomy and conveniently located for walking nearly everywhere we wanted to go. A couple things to note that I did not see in the listing: This is a duplex. The rental shares a wall with the back unit. For this visit, we left our kids at home so we were able to enjoy later nights but would have been much quieter had we known there was a kiddo trying to sleep. This is important to know!! Also, the smaller bedroom has a child-sized bed in it. Our group was very tall so it wasn’t the most comfortable sleeping arrangement. These are just things to consider. They did not take much away from this lovely property. The hostess was very responsive and accommodating which is always appreciated!
