"So much fun to stay in a barn-style getaway with scenic views and plenty of room for kids and adults to have their own space. Our children immediately "took over" the lower level with the ping pong/pool table; the two bunk-bed rooms and foldout futon were perfect sleeping arrangements for them, too. "This is a beautiful location, neighbors to the historic Watervale Inn, situated on Lower Lake Herring with a 5-minute walk to a private beach on Lake Michigan. Quiet with beautiful views. Can't get any better than that! The cottage has been completely redone, so the pictures currently on the listing don't do it justice. Both bathrooms are double sinks and very spacious, with three spacious bedrooms - it's much bigger than it seems! Access to kayaks, canoes, and paddleboards. No fires are allowed...

"This was a gem of a place. My family was a little hesitant at first to reserve this property because we usually like to have a full laundry (there is only a clothesline), but we were attracted to its lakeside location. And the location really is wonderful. We used the kayaks and paddleboards from the boat house on Herring Lake, the kids enjoyed swimming around the dock and pontoon, there is a fantastic forest trail behind the property, and a beautiful Lake Michigan beach is an easy ten minutes...

We used provided kayaks, canoe and boat to go from the house to the Lake Michigan beach. Amazing part is that is it is private access with no one to disturb except Watervale guests. "This home is beautiful! It had plenty of room for our group 9(+2 dogs). I loved how clean the home was. The owners had 3 binders with information about the area, the property and the boat. Yes, there was a pontoon available. Unfortunately the weather was rather crappy so we didn't get a chance to try it out. I would 100% recommend this property."
