"The hotel had a great location literally on the Grand Anse Beach, across the road from a mall, supermarket and KFC. However I booked double beds and got one king size. The food was average and the room dated. There was also no charging port for 2 pronged chargers. I had a good massage. It was my 40th birthday and while I got a cake it was a goof thing I walked with my own candles. "

"Our room was cleaned daily by a committed housekeeping staff. Lorene & Ingrid were exceptional, warm and friendly. They were limited by the lack of resources. Gem is conveniently located on a beach, however the rooms are showing their age and it is clear that management has not invested in updating the room in a very long time. Basic things like a running toilet tank, having to hold the lever to get the toilet to flush, a refrigerator that leaks, all reflect the lack of intention to the small details. For the most part, the staff was helpful and friendly, however, there was a server at the bar at Kalinago who was rude, dismissive and very combative. I was told that she was fairly new to the team. Management could do a better job of ensuring that their employees, as in this case, properly reflect the values and the mission of Gem/Kalinago. Deslin, who assisted us over breakfast and the bar at Kalinago was exceptional! Her maturity level and attention to details, along with her deep care for her customers was appreciated. "

"Room was not ready at 5p. Suite w 2 bedrooms and i was a single so they only cleaned one room, give me one towel and no tiolet paper. They pre-arranged taxi for 6a pickup. No show so they kindly called someone else who came right away. The car didnt appear to be a taxi due to the junk in the car but at least i got to airport"

"I love this location. It’s very close to the beach very close to activities food and things of that nature. The only thing I can say is it needs a bit of updating, but I can see them working on it daily so it’s not a big deal. it’s safe. The staff is simply amazing. It’s my second time staying there and I will be back. Definitely my first choice ."

"We stayed in a 2BR villa with our three kids in late March/early April and had a wonderful experience. The villa was spacious and comfortable with a well-equipped kitchen and a large patio offering sweeping beach views. Daily cookies and bottled water were a great touch. Wi-Fi was very strong and reliable throughout our stay. The beach was the highlight—clean, uncrowded, and full of activities like volleyball, cornhole, and shuffleboard to keep the kids entertained. The resort is very kid-friendly, though please note it is built on a steep hill, so it may not be suitable for those with mobility challenges. Dining was high quality, particularly the Friday BBQ steak. Service is on a relaxed "island time" schedule, so breakfast is a bit slow but enjoyable. Communication via WhatsApp was incredibly efficient for shuttles and requests. The resort was very quiet and peaceful, though be prepared for the vibrant sounds of local birds and wildlife—it adds to the tropical charm."

"We loved our stay at Laluna. The only thing I would say is, we chose this particular resort in part because each room had a private plunge pool. We unfortunately only used ours once, and because we felt that we should. It's located in the front of your room, right along the walking path that others take. We wished it were more private and inviting. The food at the restaurant on the property was really good, and I can't recommend the spa again. We ended up going back a second time for another balinese massage before leaving, because it was that amazing. The property is lovely and the pool and beach are beautifully maintained."
